Good morning everyone!! I'm so happy to share with you all that I don't have any acne now..the previous ones are gone because I had them injected last Saturday with my doctor's reliever and I'm not getting new ones (thank God)! The reliever doctor is nice but I decided to wait for Dra. Manuel to ask for some spot treatment for my occasional cystic acne breakouts because I don't really feel like talking to her reliever since he's not that easy to converse with haha ^_^
Thank you so much for all the sweet words and advices you gave me..they gave me hope when I panicked..I'm so lucky to have you guys as my friends here in the blogger world..I hope we can all meet in person some day just to chat and hangout :)
I think I know already the cause of my breakouts. I got really stressed out these past few weeks and I think my skin just reacted to it plus the fact that I was unable to change my pillow case that frequently hehe..Oh by the way, I can already sleep on my back the whole night so I'm able to keep my face off the pillow haha I'm really happy today so yeah..this is such a great start for my week :)
oOo
Guys, I also want to share this article with you all..I think it is very important for us Filipinos to know this so that we can help do something..please check out this article by Arg to know the destiny of all the donations that DSWD received locally and internationally for all the victims of the super typhoons that hit us this past month..it is really so sad that we can't trust our own government to accomplish something very important and urgent. I hope by spreading the word to all the people we know, we can do something to force them to do the right thing..especially if media people can get involved..we know that if they get involved, politicians can't help but do something especially now that the elections are near. let's do something!
Good morning everyone! I know it has been a long time since my last post. Actually, aside from my job hunting experience, I don't know what to post this past week. I don't feel like posting any FOTD/EOTD because my skin is acting up (again!) and I don't feel like putting on makeup for a week already. I also don't feel like doing any product reviews coz I have not tested them that much too since I stopped using all the new products I bought for 2 weeks already to isolate the cause of my breakouts. And I don't want to give you all any reviews that I'm not confident about so I decided to start testing them when I'm clear again.
I want to show everyone a picture of my face now but it is not possible as of the moment coz I don't have a digital camera with me so I decided to just describe it..I know this is gross but bear with me please since I also use my blog as a diary on my skin progress so I will know my progress..here goes..
I have a lot of cystic acne that doesn't go away and keeps on multiplying..it started 3-4 weeks ago with one huge red acne that is so painful on my right cheek and another one that had not yet erupted but you can already feel it under your skin. I had the painful one injected by my doctor..I asked her if she can inject the deep one too so that it won't breakout anymore but she couldn't feel it that time and decided not to do anything..then a few days later, that deep one became a big red bump that doesn't cause any pain or have any sign of pus formation. So I just let it be and I also don't have any extra money for another visit to my dermatologist anyway at that time. Then a few days passed by and another big red bump appeared just an inch below (near my nose) then after a couple of days another one appeared still on my right cheek..so I thought, maybe this is caused by my dirty pillowcase again since I usually sleep on my right side (this is the most comfortable position for me) and the only place on my face that have acne is my right cheek..so I tried sleeping on my left side that night..lo and behold, when I woke up, I have a new zit on my left cheek! Eversince that day, I tried my best in sleeping flat on my back and stay that way throughout the night..but it is so hard..I then tried sleeping with just my temple on my pillow last night hehe so that my cheeks won't be in contact with my pillow again..but sadly, when I woke up today, I have a new zit on my temples..waaaaaaah!!!! I really don't know what to do anymore..my topical meds don't work on cystic acne because mine are caused by deep seated bacteria that just waits for an opportunity before erupting..
I know, you all are wondering why I allowed my skin to become worst before I consulted my derma..the reason is because I'm so unfortunate..kidding aside, she is out of of the country for a convention in Germany for 1.5 months..I'm supposed to visit her for a checkup before she go but my grandparents are here in Manila and there was a typhoon that time so I have no time to go..she will be coming back on November 15 (i think)..I don't think I can wait that long so I called her clinic to ask for the schedule of her reliever but our sched don't match so I will just set an appointment this weekend for a checkup..I hope everything will get back to normal..I really am hating my skin right now and I don't want to look in the mirror any more coz all I see are my huge zits :(
LESSON I LEARNED: Keep your pillow case fresh and clean every night and try to sleep on your back so that the dirt and oils ffrom your hair and pillow won't come in contact with your precious skin..also, this can give you an instant face lift because of gravity..
Thank you so much for reading this very long post..please give me some suggestions on what else can I do to prevent breakouts..till next time :)
Hello ladies! I know most of you are already wondering what made me say I had a bad Monday right? And I did promise to tell you guys about it..Just remember that this is just based on my own experience and I do not intend to bash the companies I'm going to mention here..I hope you all understand that I'm sharing this info to serve as a warning to some who might want to apply there too.. so here goes..
WARNING: very long post
It happened last Monday, October 12, in Ayala. Me and O went there to apply for a job in a call center. I have asked some of my friends for suggestions on what companies to go to prior to our trip (thank you for your help! you know who you are ^_^). So we both decided to go to 24/7 first coz they offer a competitive salary plus they have day-shifts which I like. But sadly, this came out to be the fastest application we experienced. After filling up the application form, the person in the front desk explained to us that their company doesn't accept Nursing graduates who have no previous call center experience (at least 6mos) and they will just keep our applications so that when we already have some experience we can apply again. I understand their rule coz many nursing graduates did resigned prior to end of their contracts. I know a lot who just stayed in the company for a couple of months to pass time and earn then resigns to work in a hospital..so me and my bf did not take it against them coz we are pretty sure that the management has experienced a lot of cases like this and they are already reluctant.
We then decided to cross the street and go to Aegis People Support wherein we just decided to walk in (we had a schedule last week but we were unable to come bec. of the effects of Ondoy) since we are there already. We arrived at 11am and handed our resumes to the person in the front desk. He then asked us to sit first and wait to be called. After that here's the flow of what happened:
- 2:00pm - I was already hungry coz I just had a light breakfast and we're still not called or given any other instruction aside from to sit down and wait.
-2:30pm - we were called and interviewed in the front desk then I was given a form to fill up andd was asked to wait again. I think The front desk has the role of screening the applicants who will go to the testing part.
- 3:00pm - We were called to fall in line and then we went inside with 11 more aplicants to take the English prificiency, listening, and typing tests.
- 3:45pm - we finished our tests and were asked to sit on the hallway and wait for the result.
-4:00pm - 10 of us passed and was given a schedule for the initial interview. I was given the sched of 5:30 and my bf was given 6pm so I thought we can have lunch already but the test administrator told us not to be gone too long since this goes on very fast. So we decided to just have bladder break and wait for our interviewers to call us.
- 5:00pm - I was called by my interviewer. This initial interview lasted for 20-30 minutes. She kept on asking me the same questions over and over again. Maybe she is trying to get the truth hehe I know that it is hard to continously say a lie the same way everytime right? After drilling me, she told me that I passed that round and that I should go back to the testing area and wait for my schedule for the final interview.
- 5:30pm - I was given the time of 6:30pm for my final interview. She asked me to be there 15mins ahead of time. I waited for my bf to finish his initial interview (he's done by 6pm) and like me he was given 6:30pm for his final interview.
Since we cannot eat a heavy meal within 15 mins we just decided to eat snacks to make our stomach lasts for a couple of hours. We are in a tight budget so we can't eat in fast foods 2x that day so we went to Mercury Drugstore and bought 2 chocolate drinks and a paack of hopia hapon. We came back inside the building by 6:15pm.
- 6:45pm - I was called by my interviewer to answer a pen and paper exam. She told me to wait for her to finish another applicant.
- 7:15pm - I was called inside the room for my final interview. My bf was already on his final interview with another staff around 7pm so I was actually waiting alone.
- 7:45pm - My final interview was finished. The interviewer asked me the same set of questions again plus some new ones. After satisfying her with my answers, she told me that I need to undergo another exam, the call simulation. So I said okay. She gave me instructions on what to expect and gave me 10mins to browse the computer and the site. I waited for about 15mins instead of 10 before the phone rang. The call lasted around 10-15 mins only and then I waited again for my interviewer to come back.
- 8:15pm - My interviewer came back and told me that I passed that round and then she gave me another set of pen and paper test to answer outside.
- 8:30pm - I passed my answer to her and she told me that I still need to go back the next day for another set of test and interview under the Operations Manager. After knowing this, I went back to the lobby and told my bf about it. He was also done with his interview and he was asked to wait for a job offer. Hmm so this got me thinking that the interviewer can't decide if I can do the account she tested me with and so she wants to transfer me to the OM to decide if I can work under him.
My bf was called with the others who passed with flying colors. I was left in the lobby to wait. Of course, I can't go home alone since it is already late (I'm afraid to travel alone at night) and I can't leave my bf there too. I was so hungry already because my last meal was at 7am. We both thought that the JO will only take a couple of minutes but guess what, by 10:00pm my bf was still inside! I was already worried because my mom is already angry since it was already late and there's no train already. My bf got worried about me so he excused himself and went back to the lobby. They were not yet finished. He was also hungry at that time and very tired already since we had our breakfast around the same time. He can't decide if he will sign the contract already because the offer is not that high (we live in Novaliches and the salary must be enough for transpo) and he can't think because it was so late. He then decided to ask for a time to think.
- 10:20pm - my bf came back and we went home. Since it is already past 10pm, we can't ride the MRT already so we decided to take the bus home. We arrived at Trinoma by 11:10pm and we had our meal at McDonald's since it was the only fastfood where we can eat. We were planning to take a taxi since there were already no other transportation for us (aside from buses that do not pass in our location) to go home to our houses in Novaliches. Luckily, his brother volunteered to pick him up.
- 12:30am - I got home safe. My mom got really worried coz I was unable to respond to her text messages (I used up my load hehe).
I decided not to come back again yesterday for my scheduled interview with the manager since I was able to talk to someone during my application. He was there since 12nn for a couple of tests and JO too and he was called for that around 8:30pm. I don't want to experience that long waiting again.
This post probably bored you all to death. I don't know how to make this shorter..I just needed to share this coz I'm still frustrated until now. I don't think it is normal to spend a whole day for processing. Taken that there are a lot of applicants but based on my observation, the staff was unable to manage time properly. If they don't think they can accomodate you that day, they should tell you soon instead of making you wait then tell you to comeback. They should also keep it in mind that majority of the applicants have not eaten yet. I hope they told me to just take my lunch first and come back around 2pm instead of asking me to just stay put and wait for my name to be called. That's cruel in my opinion.
Anyways, I decided to apply somewhere in Ortigas area tomorrow for an online English teacher. The schedule is more forgiving than in the call center industry so i really hope this is it.
Thank you for reading my very long rant. Bye!
Hello everyone! How are you all doing? This is the first time in the last week that I can really sit long in front of the computer. I have been out most of the time this week because I'm job hunting with my bf. I did not accept the job offer of the hospital near our place that I told you guys about because the salary is too low for me (around Php6k a month only and they will need to deduct SSS and Philhealth fees from that too)..So me and my bf decided to just give up nursing here in the Philippines and just go back to the call center industry (anyway, hospitals here offer the same salary range and they are not hiring as of the moment or anytime in the near future). At least in this industry, the smallest salary I can expect is php10k per month even with the deductions. Shifting schedules can never be a problem for me since I'm already used to it..my only problem now is some call center companies are not welcoming nurses or nursing graduates because majority don't stay long. This is sad but this can't be helped coz it is true. At first I want to go back doing general transcribing but I can't find a company that offers this now. So we decided to try our luck on other non-voice accounts too but sadly, these openings are easily filled. We are now applying for customer service representative position. I'm putting tech support as my last option since I don't know anything about fixing things (I tried it once but I only lasted 1 month). We have applied on couple of companies already but either the location is too far, they don't have an opening for csr or they don't want me coz I was unable to pass their expectations hehe. We are going to Makati area on Monday to try our luck there. Makati and Buendia area are very accessible to us compared to those on QC area (like Libis) because Makati can be reached thru trains so travel time is shorter and fare is cheaper. So wish us luck! We are both hoping to get hired before the month ends because both of our birthdays is on November and we want to have a stable job before that day arrives.
By the way, thank you for the well wishes! I am now almost fully recovered from my illness. I really hate getting allergic reactions because it can cause me to have more problems like this one (tonsilitis and cough). I'm so glad I am now okay..I hate coughing especially when I'm in a public place..it's embarassing..anyways, I hope I can get to post regularly again..I don't know what to post hehe..any suggestions or request? If you have, do post away on the comment box below..
Thank you so much for dropping by! Till my next post. Bye! ^_^
Just a quick post before I sleep again hehe..I just like to answer this tag that is making rounds in Youtube ^_^
1--Thing you cannot leave the house without?
I always bring my wallet or coinpurse anywhere. It would be hard to go anywhere if you don't have money hehe. And since this is a beauty blog, the one beauty item I can't leave the house without is my lipbalm. I have very dry lips so I need to hhave something to moisturize them.
2--Favorite Brand of makeup?
Hmm this is hard..I buy from different brands and I don't really have one brand that stood out to me..
3--Favorite Flower?
I'm not really a flower person but among all the flowers I saw, my favorite would be orchids and paper roses because they lasts long :)
4-- Fave clothing store?
No specific brand but I like buying online or on department stores. I'm not really into brands when it comes to clothes. As long long as they are comfy and looks nice, I'll buy it :)
5--Favorite Perfume?
I love body sprays or cologne better than perfumes. My favorite is Bath and Body Works :)
6--Heels or flats?
I love flats! I only have 2 pairs of heels and the rest are flats and sneakers. I love the comfort flats gives me and I can't really stand wearing high heels coz my feet hurts easily haha :)
7--Do you make good grades?
When I was still in school, I do try my best to get good grades. I just love studying and getting good grades makes my mom proud and happy so I strive for it :)
8--Favorite colors?
This is easy. I love blue (esp. turquoise, teal and baby blue), yellow, and white.
9--Do you drink energy drinks?
No. I can't drink caffeinated drinks.
10--Do you drink juice?
I love juice! I prefer this than sodas or just plain water.
11--Do you like swimming?
Yes! When I was young, I dreamed of taking up swimming classes so I can become a great swimmer.
12--Do you eat fries with a fork?
No. Fries are supposed to be eaten using your fingers since they are finger foods.
13--Favourite Moisturizer?
I'm currently loving Avalon Vit. C oil free moitsturizer.
14--Do you want to get married later on in life?
Yes! I love dreaming about getting married haha :)
15--Do you get mad easily?
Hmm it depends on who. I have patience when it comes to my loveones but if I don't like you, I get mad easily.
16--Are you into Ghost Hunting?
heck no. I don't like to see any ghosts hehe but I love watching reality ghost hunting tv shows
17-- Any phobias?
I don't know what it is called but I can't go diving or snorkelling on deep waters. Whenever I am underwater and I can see the vast view clearly, I panic coz I get an illusion of a shark coming towards me haha. I even experience it even when I am in a pool so I hate wearing goggles.
18--Do you bite your nails?
Nope.
19--Have you ever had a near death experience?
Nope. And I hope I don't get to experience it.
20--Do you drink coffee?
I love coffee but sadly I can only drink the decaf now because I will get chest pains and palpitations if I drink plenty caffeine.
Answer this too if you find the questions interesting enough. Till next time! :)

Thank you guys! ^_^
To all my readers, please pardon me for being unable to post any beauty related topics lately..I've been so busy because of the disaster Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) left behind. I'm also not feeling well since Thursday afternoon so I went to my cardiologist yesterday morning for a checkup. I thought I was having another problem with my heart but luckily my heart problem did not got any worse and I can stop taking my heart meds already and just have it for back up if ever I get some symptoms again. According to my doctor, I just had an allergy attack because of frequent changing of the weather that lead to a throat infection (I have so many inflamed lymph nodes on my throat). She gave me a strong antibiotic and some antihistamines to take for a week..I was also prescribed to take Montelukast again to prevent me from having another bad attack of asthma (I think i was still in high school when I got an attack like that)..I'm still feeling dizzy right now, but I still want to update all of you on what's happening to me this past few days..I promise that I will begin posting again once I got my health back to normal. Thank you for understanding guys ^_^
Also, a somewhat good news came my way this morning..according to PAGASA, Typhoon Pepeng (Parma) moved upwards and will not hit Manila directly..there is also a chance that this will not hit the Philippines too..so let us pray that this typhoon will not hit any part of the Philippines so that no one will suffer. To read the whole news article, click here.
Take care everyone! and let us continue to help others who are in neeed. God bless! ^_^
Hello everyone! I want to post this CNN weather forecast about the coming super typhoon Parma (Pepeng) this weekend..You can watch the clip here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H86EMYS23ug
I'm really hoping for a miracle that this will miss all the places that was already affected by Ketsana (Ondoy) even though according to CNN, this typhoon will hit Manila and Northern Luzon (again!)...Guys, let us try our best to prepare for this upcoming super typhoon..this is stronger than Ondoy and the heavy rain we experienced earlier today was just a warning..
I got really scared earlier when the rain started pouring..the drops are so big and Araneta Avenue got flooded easily..the water reached the sidewalks in just 30minutes of continous raining..what more on Saturday when the typhoon comes?
According to Philippine National Red Cross, we need to prepare for the following in order to survive for a couple of days just in case we got flooded again. I can't remember everything coz I just watched this in the news earlier and I can't find a link of the complete list..I suggest you still do some research or prepare whatever you think you might be needing just in case.
1. First aid kit: antibacterial ointments, antipyretics (paracetamol), oral rehydration solutions (oresol), anti diarrheal meds, antihistamines, cough and colds medicines, antibiotics, medications for your diseases like asthma, heart problems and diabetes, band aids, gauzes, betadine, etc
2. 3 gallons of water for each person. This can make you last for 3 days.
3. canned foods and easy to cook foods like noodles.
4. flashlights with plenty of extra batteries
5. many boxes of matches and candles
6. charge your cellphones and extra batteries (if available) and keep your charger
7. charge your emergency lights
8. Toiletries - tissues, alcohol, soaps, toothbrush, etc
9. Changes of clothes
Place everything in one plastic container and keep it in one place where you can easily reach for it in case of evacuating.
I hope and pray that everyone will be safe and we can all survive this coming super typhoon. God bless everyone!
I'm pretty sure everyone of you had heard already about Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) hitting our country, the Philippines, very hard. In my almost 24 years of existence, this is the first I experienced extreme flooding here in Metro Manila..Me and my family are lucky because our house have 2nd and 3rd floor and our village is a little higher than the rest of the area around us but my other relatives and my boyfriend was not as lucky...my brother got home very late last night because he got stranded in their office in Libis..my relatives who lives in Sta. Mesa, Manila (their house is just beside Pasig river) is still stranded on the second floor of their house until now without food and water because the water is still 6ft deep..another relative of mine was already on their 3rd floor because the water was already covering the second floor of their house..my best friend and her mom was stuck without any food too on their office in Del Monte and was just able to get home this lunch..and the most sad news for me is when I learned yesterday that my boyfriend with his family had been evacuated from their house in Novaliches, Quezon City because their house was submerged completely. They need to walk on top of the roof of the houses just so they can go to a higher place in their subdivision..I got so nervous yesterday when I can't contact him and that is the reason..They were very busy in surviving especially with a 7months old baby on their arms. They were unable to salvage anything! No clothes or foods or any personal stuff. According to him, their house got flooded in less than an hour! That's how fast the water level came up. It is because their house is near a small stream and Novaliches is near Angat Dam (why did they not give any warning that they need to open the dam?!)..This is the very first time our place got flooded! Even the highway (Mindanao Avenue) just outside of our subdivision looked like a raging river with around 5ft water level..I'm just glad all my love ones are still safe. I'm just glad my bf and his family is already staying in his aunt's place in Fairview and they are warm and safe already. But I'm still worried for my Ninang Mayet and my other uncles and cousins who live in Sta. Mesa because they still have some flood water..
I'm really sad right now especially after I watched the news..the death toll is already more than 80 and the search and rescue operations are still ongoing and for sure the number of deaths will still go up and the damage is still increasing..hundreds of families are already homeless right now and had lost contact with their relatives..Please help us pray..Let us pray that we can all get through this calamity soon..God bless everyone! Be safe.
