Movie Review: New Moon (Twilight Saga)

Hello everyone!

I was finally able to watch New Moon! Yippee! I was so happy last Thursday coz I was able to watch it with my bf after work..I actually wanted to watch it on its opening day but there are no more tickets that weekend and a week later it's still the same...I got nervous because the line for the ticket counter was so long and one of the two cinemas showing it was already full...the other one is nearly full and I got nervous that by the time I will buy my ticket, there will be no more seats available anymore..luckily, I was still able to get two seats for us..just in the nick of time actually hehe :)



Well, I actually went there not expecting too high because I did not love the Twilight movie..and I really hated K. Stewart (Bella) and R. Pattinson's (Edward) acting..they really ruined the role in my opinion (fans, don't hate me..it's just my view po) because they lack emotions..they don't look in love at all..so I went to the cinema really hoping they got better in their acting..I was able to hear a lot of good reviews on New Moon so I was really exicited to see if they were true.

Here's my opinion on the film..please take note that I am a huge fan of the book and not the actors...I watched because I like to see how the director made the story alive :)

What I like about it:
- This movie is way, way better than Twilight! The quality of the effects (especially how they showed the speed of the vampires and werewolves and also the transformations of the pact) is higher and well thought off.
- K. Stewart's acting got better..I'm so happy she improved..she's not monotonous anymore haha..although she did not act superb, at least she did good :)
- I love how they made Taylor Lautner (Jacob) look mature and fit for the role..I really got curious how they will make him "evolve" as a wolf and I'm happy to say, they met my expectation..though I wished Jacob is a lot taller coz in the book, he's over 6ft tall.
- The small details really did it for me..my fave is the steam coming off from Jacob during the raining scene with Bella. It really emphasized that Jacob is hot.
- The scene in Italy is good. Very detailed. I love the setting, just like what I imagined it to be while reading the book.
- I love Dakota Fanning as Jane! I really can't wait for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn to be shown..she did a very good job even though it was a really short scene :)
- This movie made me want to read the book again (for the Nth time haha) ^_^


What I don't like:
- New Moon as a book is not really interesting for me..since it felt "bitin"..and that is what happened here in the movie too..I felt that the ending was cut off immediately..
- I still can't accept R. Pattinson as Edward hehe..I don't think he looks that handsome..sorry fans..I'm a team Jacob :)
- Jasper is still weird for me..I don't know why he looks that way..as if he is always scared and alert. I hope he improves too in the next film.
- if you have not read the book, you might not get the story..it jumps on some scenes.
- the tickets are always sold out


OVER-ALL RATING: 4/5 - I'll definitely be watching this again with my best friend or sister soon hehe. I just wish Bella and Jacob can be together in the story..anyways, that's impossible..so I'll try to let it go haha ^_^

I will suggest you watch this movie..it's better if you watch this with someone who loves the book too. Trust me on this hehe :)


By the way, due to some circumstances, I won't be able to go to the Noel Bazaar at World Trade Center anymore..maybe I can meet you guys in another time na lang..

An Invite (good news) + Rant (bad news)

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? I have spent my weekend with my mom and grandma..we went shopping at Trinoma mall and SM North haha should I say mall-hopping? My grandma bought some stuff that she will need in Mindanao. She's going back there on Friday and will stay there for another 3 months or so before they (my grandpa is based there for his work) come back here at Manila for a visit. I hope you also had a great weekend like me ^_^

Also, I'm both ecstatic and sad today. Hmm which should I share first? I think I'll go for the bad news first..

Here goes...Half of my pocketbooks/novels collection are destroyed by termites! Yes, you heard that right. TERMITES!!! I hate them huhu I bought a wooden bookshelf a year ago to house my big collection of books in my room (I want to organize them and keep them in good condition). I know I'm risking it because our house is really infested with termites already (our house is already 22 years old and 70% of it is made of wood) and buying a furniture made of wood is a bad idea BUT I fell in love with the shelf. I really love the design and that it was on sale the day I bought it was an added plus. But now, I'm regretting getting it coz I was unable to notice the infestation a lot earlier since it has a cover in front. I only noticed it when I returned a novel inside the shelf and I tried to get another book from the back portion of the shelf. I was so shocked that the termites was there and one of my hard-to-find hard bound novel was already eaten (20% of it) and majority of the novels at the back part are damaged (around 25-30 pieces) already...I actually cried that first night I found out about it..I am still on the process of saving the books and looking for a new container for them..I might go back to buying plastic containers again...I still can't let it go..I can't help but feel so sad that the books I bought and cherished are not in pristine conditions now...

Hello everyone!!!!!!!

I'm back!!!!!! haha I'm so happy to be back home ^_^

First of all, I celebrated my 24th birthday yesterday with my family. It was a pizza and ice cream merienda "party" because all of my guests are my kid cousins (they are 5 hehe)..My best friend Rachelle and my bf also dropped by. I don't really want to celebrate big like before and all I want to eat is pizza! We actually consumed 6 boxes of party size Shakey's pizza, 2 gallons of ice cream and 1 bilao of pansit malabon. I'm super happy!

Here's a picture of me with my bf..it was also our 6.2 anniversary yesterday so we had double celebration..I'm happy he was able to stay for a couple of hours ^_^


Here's my cake ^_^ It is my bf's gift for me..he asked his sister to bake me a cute cake made of 2 layers (white chocolate and mint chocolate) of cake with marshmallow fondant..yum! I had a hard time cutting it coz I don't want to destroy it haha ^_^
Isn't it obvious with my smile that I'm really happy? haha ^_^

I'm blowing my cake now...pardon me for the shiny face hehe I did not have time to put any makeup on because I was taking care of my 2 cousins since 6am! I had a blast with them :)

My best friend Rachelle dropped by during the night..And as usual, we chatted the whole night! When we're together, our mouths are really unstoppable haha.. this photo was taken by my sister..this is the only "normal" shot we have coz all our other pics are bloopers haha ^_^

Oh, before I forget...Thank you guys for the well wishes and congratulations about my new found job! Actually, today is my first day of training..I still don't know how everything works but I'm happy I got in..even though I need to learn everything in a month's time, I am still happy that I am with my boyfriend everyday hehe and the job is fixed 8am-5pm so I don't need tp worry how I will go to work (compared to being a nurse or a call center agent)..also, our company offers free lunch and bottomless drinks (coffee, water, lemonade, iced tea) and me being a food lover really enjoyed this plus..I tried the dishes today and they were good! big servings and quality is good so I can't ask for more ^_^ sorry I can't help but talk about the food hehe I really love to eat :)

Another update: My derma is back! I'm so happy that Dra. Manuel is already back in the country and she already started having clinic..I already contacted her and I'm scheduled to go there this Wednesday afternoon..I really hope these cystic acnes will stop popping up! Argg!!! I hope to have clear skin again now that I no longer have any stress and I sleep early at night.

Just a quick update ^_^

Hello everyone!

I know I've been MIA for a while already..I'm just busy taking care of my grandma who underwent an operation and I'm staying with her. My grandparents' house don't have a computer so it is impossible for me to check and update my blog every now and then. I just went back last Sunday night here at my place coz I have an interview today and I'll be back to my grandma tomorrow morning..in short, I'll be MIA again hehe :)

I just don't want to leave you all hanging..wondering what happened to me..I will probably be back to circulation in 2 weeks coz my grandma will follow to the province where my grandpa is working..we are just waiting for a go signal from her doctor if she can already travel and doesn't need any close monitoring anymore..

By the way, I have a great news to all of you..my prayers are answered already..My interview this afternoon went well..Actually I have kept quite about my application in this company so that I won't jinx it hehe..I applied for the position of media transcriptionist in a company in Makati..the salary is not that big but what attracted me to it is the "advantages" hehe..it's day shift (8am-5pm) only, Sundays off, with holidays and with free meals and unlimited drinks..And of course the job is perfect for me too since I love watching TT series and variety shows and also movies..the job is somewhat like putting subtitles on American movies and shows..and since I already have some experience transcribing, I think it would be easier for me to adjust..I was able to pass the very long exam last week and this afternoon I was able to pass my interview too..According to my interviewer, they will just call me for the schedule of my training in a week or two..I hope it would be sooner coz I want to be able to work before my birthday comes this month hehe..so yeah I am very happy right now ^_^

That's it! Those are the things that kept me busy these past couple of weeks..I hope I'll be able to post regularly agin soon..till next time..God bless everyone! ^_^

Halloween look: The Wicked Witch

Happy weekend everyone! It is another rainy and very windy day for us so keep safe!

Anyhow, since it is the halloween season, I decided to join the craze and create a look. This is my first time to do "scary" makeup hehe I was just inspired by all the beauty gurus in Youtube doing crazy makeup for the holiday. I agree that this is the only time of the year where crazy makeup is very much accepted by everyone so I want to take the chance. At first I wanted a vampire look but as I go on, I got an inspiration to become the wicked witch. I love fairy tales and they are not complete unless there's a villain. She is always a beautiful lady that has a very evil soul. So yeah, I hope I was able to capture it on my cam. It really looks scary in person..I was even able to scare my sister this morning haha ^_^

Let's start with the eyes..Pardon me for the messy falsies..I still can't get used in putting them on but at least I can now remove them and the glue with ease unlike the first time :)

EYES:

- Skinfood salmon concealer

- MAC Paintpot in Painterly

- Coastal Scents 88 matte e/s palette (sorry, I was unable to take a pic of the colors I used bec. my cam died)

- The Face Shop false eyelashes in XNS

Now for the face..I kept everything pale white as to give a more eery look...

FACE:

- Sunblock SPF 80 (to give us a whitish cast)

- Ellana Sheer Velvet Primer powder

- Meow foundation in Flawless Feline formulation "my mix" (this is very light)

- Aromaleigh URFP in Peaches & Cream (to provide some iridescent sheen to my skin)

- Ellana Blush in Serenity (i used this to contour my cheeks)

LIPS:

- Petroleum jelly

- a dark purple lipstick topped with blue violet e/s from my CS palette

And here's my most scariest photo (IMO hehe) ..I think I can pass up as Sadako..what do you think? ^_^
