Just a rant...against ABS CBN

Hello everyone. I'm really tired today physically and mentally from work and my travel going home. But that's a taken because I need to travel for at least an hour before I reach my home and since it's Friday there are also a lot of people travelling so it's very tiring riding the MRT.

Anyways, I'm actually emotionally battered right now because of ABS CBN. You probably know that I'm a big fan of Filipino romance writer Martha Cecilia (MC) right? Well, ABS CBN had done TV adaptations of a lot of her books and it had great ratings.

Well, their next project is the Kristine Series. I really, really, really love this series. Out of all MC's book, these are my favorites. This series hold a special place in my heart since I fell in love with MC because of this series. I began reading this when I was in high school and I'm already 24 and I'm still waiting for each new addition to the series until now. It's still ongoing and I don't like it to end :)

I mean, I have read each of the books at least a dozen times and I really love all the characters in all the 3 generations in the story. I knew their story by heart. I really love them.

Now, why would I be angry if ABS CBN had made a TV adaptation? At first, I'm excited about it but when I saw the teaser, I got shocked. I don't like the actors who will portray the characters and also because the writer of the TV series changed a lot things! I know that whenever a book is made into a TV series or a movie, you can't help but have differences, I know that. But I can't really accept that the writers of the TV adaptation changed the name of the main character and put a lot of twists on the whole story. I mean, if whoever he/she read the book, there are a lot of twists already and there will be no need to change or add anything.

I mean, it would not be the same story that we fans loved if they are gonna change everything major in the story. Even Martha Cecilia is angry coz ABS CBN did not talk to them about these whole "twist" as they call it. This is so unacceptable. As far as I know, you can't really changed something that major without asking permission from the author of the book, so this is not right.

If you are also a fan like me, please post a petition on ABS CBN website or at their multiply so that they will know we don't like it.

I'm sorry if you all have to read this..But I must release all these frustrations one way or another because I'm really exploding. I will really hate ABS CBN for life if they don't do something about this. Period. No second chances. Grrr!

I hope everything will go well. I'm really going to attend their press conference to see if they will have an answer to our petitions.

Review: Stila Smudgepot in Black

Hello everyone!

First off, I want to thank each and every one of you for your support on my Derma Roller expedition ^_^ That really means a lot to me coz very few people around me understands why I'm undergoing through this and why I'm paying a large amount of money for that. So, it's really great "hearing" your support.

Now, let's go to the review! I got this from my GTalker friend Chrissy. She messaged me that she has a Stila Smudgepot in Black in a travel sized container. And she informed me about it because she knows I wanted to try it for the longest time hehe ^_^

What I like about this liner:

-Very easy to apply. I like this better than MAC fluidline coz this is creamier.
-Very true to color on the pot. I only need one swipe/layer to have an opaque black liner.
-Dries up pretty fast so it doesn't transfer on my lid when I blink during application and even during the day.
-Affordable because you only need a very small amount of product per use.
-Doesn't fade or smudge if you have an eyeshadow base underneath it.

What I don't like about it:

-It smudges (I have oily lids) if I don't put a base underneath. As in I look like a racoon haha

Over-all Rating: 4/5. This is a very good eyeliner in terms of staying power and color payoff as long as you have a base. And since I always put a primer anyway, it's not really a problem for me :)

Will I repurchase? Yup! But I don't think I need to buy another one soon. This pot will last me a long time fore sure.

Here's a shot when I swatched it without any base.

And I wet it with water then rubbed it. It did not disappear totally, just got blurred.

This is what makes me wonder though. It doesn't smudge on the back of my hand even if I wet it and scrub it but whenever I put it on my lids without any primer, I will definitely look like a racoon after 5 hours. Even with my sister who has dry skin, this liner smudges without primer. Hmm, good thing that I don't mind having another step on my eye makeup application.

Will I recommend it? Yup! It's really worth the money. Everyone has different type of eyes so it may smudge on me without primer but not on you. But nevertheless, I will definitely and strongly advice everyone to apply an eyeshadow primer before using this product ^_^

What about you? What's your favorite eyeliner? Till next time. Bye!

Skin Diary: Derma Roller Experience (1st)

Hello everyone! I hope all of you had a great week and will have another good one :)

I know I promised all of you that I will post pictures about my derma rolling experience last July 14 but my derma had to go somewhere that day so we re-scheduled it today.

My derma and I talked and decided that we will do the removal of warts (I didn't know I already had a lot hehe) first then proceed to derma rolling. So I went to the clinic yesterday but since I have a lot of pimples (it's that time of the month last week) my doctor can't actually see the warts hehe so I just had a facial then asked to come back today.

First off, I want to apologize, I was unable to take a picture before I underwent the procedure. But my skin did not change much after the procedure minus the reddish color of my skin hehe so I still think it can be used as a "BEFORE" picture for future reference ^_^
WARNING: I do not have great skin so the following pictures will show my flawed skin without any makeup editing, whatsoever...
Here's a shot 30 minutes after the procedure was done. I was a little flushed looking. You can see the marks from the facial and cautery but no marks of the needles from the derma roller.
arrgh! look at my acne scars...it looks worse in person.. huhu
Here's a shot 3 hours after. The flushed look disappeared already and I only have a slight blushed look on the cheeks.

*My face is a little shiny coz I have an antibiotic gel all over my face.

Here's what I can tell you about my Derma Roller experience...
-You will have topical anesthesia applied to your whole face, so allow an hour for that. Take this into consideration when scheduling for the derma roller.

-And since you have anesthesia, you won't feel any pain. I can just feel the sensation of having something rolling on my skin but no pain from the needles. hmmm, I can describe it as if you are pressing your hair brush on your skin. No pain but you can feel it...I hope I make sense here hehe :)

-It takes around 30 minutes only for the whole procedure (waiting for the anesthesia to work NOT included)

-Redness is not too much. You just look flushed as if you put a lot of blush hehe. It subsides after an hour or two then you'll just look like you are blushing as seen on my picture. No needle marks visible after.

-They say that you can see a difference even after a week...so I'll be putting up a picture after a week to show you guys if it's true or just a rumor haha

-According to my derma and research in the internet, it usually takes 5-6 sessions before you achieve the result you want.

This will be done every two weeks and I'm really hoping I'll have clear skin before my 25th birthday on November hehe...I'm really crossing my fingers ^_^

-This is a little expensive. It cost around Php12,000 for 10 sessions in my derma's clinic. And I heard that it's already cheaper there coz there's someone that told me she spent Php30,000 for this! That's a huge difference don't you think? I don't get it why big known clinics charge too high on procedures.

So, yeah, I'll come back on Thursday for a checkup. this is my first session so my derma needed to check how I reacted to it. then it will be every 2 weeks ^_^

I really saved up for this and that's why I'm not posting a lot of reviews lately...money's tight right now especially since I don't have a large salary...but I really think this is worth it. I really like to invest on my skin because beautiful makeup is useless if the base is ugly right? ^_^

Till my next post! Wish me luck guys! Have a happy monday! ^_^

Review: Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

Hello everyone! How was your week? I hope no one got hurt because of the last typhoon that hit us..the wind was so strong that night and I got really scared that my window will break from the hits it were receiving from my windchime. I was unable to blog because our internet connection was wavy the whole week actually...Oh, and I hate the blackouts and the no water supply..hay...

Anyway, as I've promised, here's a review of a product that I've been using lately. You might be wondering why I'm doing a review on this when I can't put makeup right? Well, since I don't really get pimples on my eye area, I sometimes put eyeliner and mascara when there are events I need to go to or when I feel like wearing makeup to lok a little perkier hehe.

So, yeah, my sister actually bought this 1 or 2 months ago because our Mandom cleansing express was used up already and we wanted to try this out because of the good reviews. And since someone from Mary Kay went to their office for demo, she was able to get one sooner than later.

MARY KAY OIL-FREE EYE MAKEUP REMOVER

What I like about this:

- Effectively removes waterproof mascara and gel liners.
No need to wipe your lids a gazillion times to remove mascara.

- A small amount of product is needed for removing the whole eye makeup

- No oily, sticky residue on your face

- Can be used on the lips too for removing lipsticks coz it doesn't taste weird if you accidentally tasted it.

- Affordable. I think this is only P400+ for a 110ml bottle that can last you a long time.

What I don't like:

- I can only get this from Mary Kay sellers coz they don't have a shop.

OVERALL Rating: 4.5/5

Will I repurchase? Yes! Definitely a good buy. ^_^

*But I'll still be on the lookout for the best eyemakeup remover on the planet haha
I don't think I can stop myself from trying out products since I'm a beauty junkie ^_^

TIPS

- Shake the bottle well before use to mix the content.

- Use a cotton pad instead of a cotton ball so that you will only need a small amount for removing makeup. Cotton balls only absorbs the product.

What about you? What's your favorite eyemakeup remover? ^_^

Skin Diary Update

Hello! I'm back from a long hiatus again. I've been quite pre-occupied lately so I was unable to blog that often...Sorry for that..

Anyway, as most of you have known, I really had a bad case of skin asthma this summer and it made my skin so sensitive that I can't even put on my tinted sunblock without breaking out in addition to my rashes. For the last 3-4 months, me and my derma, Dra. Michelle Manuel, have been on the search for the "Right" skincare product to treat my skin. We can't do very much with the skin asthma because I'm born with it but at least we would be able to keep my skin calm.

I really miss applying makeup..it's been so long and I want to feel really pretty and polished again especially on events like parties, reunions, etc. =(

After trying a lot of treatment products, Dra. Michelle formulated a new one for me to try. I started using it last Monday night so I'm on my 4th day now. I haven't noticed much of a difference yet but my bf told me that he notices my breakouts are drying up so I guess that's a good sign. I really am crossing my fingers that this is the one.

My skin regimen for now is just wash my face in the morning... then at night, apply the medication all over my face after washing it.

I also decided to undergo derma rolling. I have researched about it and I inquired to my derma about it and she told me it will help my skin because derma rolling stimulates your skin to heal itself. I know it's expensive but I have read that it is really really worth it. That even after one session, you will notice a difference. Hmm, I'll update you guys on what will happen. I'll do an online diary of it so that we can monitor if there would be any improvements or not...My first session will be on July 17 so expect my update on or the day after about my experience ^_^

I have a couple of products that I will review soon.

Till next time! Take care guys! ^_^
