I just need to release my frustrations...

WARNING: this is a ranting from moi...

This is what happened..I got accepted as a General transcriptionist last month, February 10, 2009..I applied to Total Transcriptions Solutions Inc or TTSI (in West Avenue) because it is near to my place (just one ride away) and the working hours is better than in a call center..I signed a contract stating that I'll be working in a contractual basis and I'll be receiving almost Php10k per month..since I will be getting a minimum wage, I will have no tax deduction on my salary so I'm really happy with that...also being contractual and having no bond with the company is good too for I don't really intend to stay long in this job..I just want to earn while waiting for a hospital job...so anyway, the work is okay and the working time is okay (5am-1pm) coz I can do more things when I went home...the only thing I don't like is the number of working days vs the salary..we are required to work Monday-Saturday...The first two weeks was really great coz I enjoy working and I got a salary of P9k because my training is by TESDA..so I'm really happy with that..but sadly, the goodness of my work did not last...after getting my first salary, we started having "on-call" situations..at first it was okay but when I asked if it is paid, they said "No, coz you didn't work that day and your salary is per day"...so I was really shocked! I really thought that I will be getting my money without any deductions coz it is really small already...So I still gave them a chance, i told myself that this is only a rare occasion..but my third and fourth week of working there really is an eye opener..I only came to work for 7 days !! We had so many on-call and forced undertime (no more load so they told us to go home early, we didn't know that they will deduct it from our salary) that all of us didn't get more than P3k each..Actually, I only got P2k flat today...I'm really frustrated coz I wake up at 4 am every day just to be at the office before 5 am and I need to type for 8 hours and I will only get P2k?! All of us in the team are in a bad mood when we finished our work for the day..we learned that we need to pay for SSS, Philhealth and Pagibig even though we are only contractual (they deducted P700 for those 3)..So there, now I have a problem of budgeting my money until the end of the month..and another problem is, we already have 2 on-calls already so the biggest salary I can get next time will be P4k, that is if we will not have anymore on-call...Actually, we are all thinking of quitting now..I'll stay until holy week only so that I will still have 2 more pay for my hard work...so if you are looking for work and you've considered applying in this company, please reconsider..and if you know someone who is thinking of applying here too, please warn them..I think the reason why they keep on hiring people is because they are expecting employees to just quit working...you can rarely see an employee in our team that stayed for more than 1 month..we are always having someone drop out from work because of this...

Thank you for listening guys..I just need to tell this so that I can release some of my frustrations and also to serve as a warning to you all if you are thinking of applying in this company...

Oh no ! *hugs* I am so sorry to read that, there are really a lot of companies out there taking advantage of the situation and taking advantage of everyone! Did anyone of you complained to the HR? I think they are really keen on doing that because they knew that NO ONE is going to complain. I hope somebody would raise that issue to the local government after resignation. Keep us posted...so sorry you have to go through all those!

I feel for you sis.

My instructor from MTC once said that there are MT companies who take advantage of newbie transcriptionist, they make them do live files at almost no cost and will just have their editors go over their work. I did not know that they are now into this sort of things though.

Nikki - thanx for the comforting words sis..yes, all of us in the team had raised this to our team manager and HR but they can't do anything daw because we are really on a daily basis payment..which they didn't explain to us before we signed the contract :(

Mirage - thank you for dropping by sis..I think that what happens in our company..they just let us newbies to do the hard part then they do the editing...
