Review: LUSH Fresh Farmacy

Happy Tuesday!
Finally! I was able to take some pictures for my reviews using the DSLR of my sister...it was so hard to operate compared to my point&shoot digital camera. So please pardon me for the quality of the photos (until I get a new digicam or until I get the hang of this cam) hehe I really don't know what I'm doing ^_^

I have been using the LUSH Fresh Farmacy facial soap 2x a day for more than a month already. I have chosen to try this because it had garnered a lot of raves from acne prone skin people all over the world and also LUSH is part of the cruelty-free brands available locally.

Here's a close up look of the label so you can see the description of the product, ingredients and the price.

PRICE: P395 per 100g.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Calamine and Chamomile

I had mine cut into smaller pieces (about 2-3 inches cube) at the store so that I can keep them fresh a lot longer and to prevent them from melting all at once. The SA at SM NORTH was so nice because she even wrapped them individually with paper :)

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

- It helped in calming my skin. My breakouts was also lessened -- I believed this because I don't have any acne treatment on my skin care regimen now.

- I liked the scent of calamine and chamomile. It makes me feel like I am putting some good quality natural stuff on my face which won't aggravate my skin condition haha ^_^

- This lathers really well. It's not bubbly/foamy like regular cleansers but at least it lathers enough for me to feel like I am cleaning my skin. I am not a fan of cleansers like Cetaphil because it doesn't lather at all.

- You can use everything up to the last melted soap to clean your face. I just scrape the container clean with my fingers :)

- Great for traveling. You won't need to worry about spilling anything on your bag because this is a solid soap.

- This product is 100% cruelty-free!

WHAT I HATE:

- It melts so fast! You really need to place this in a dry cool place because it melts quite easily. A small piece of soap can last me 2-3 weeks depending on how I store my used soap.

- This made my skin a lot drier. Now, I have oily skin and my face feels taut right after washing my face. I can't imagine people with dry skin using this.

- This is unhygienic. I prefer soaps in liquid form because I hate the idea of dipping my fingers and contaminating the rest of the product.

- I think it's a little pricey for some people especially if you're not used to buying higher end brands of skin care products.

OVER-ALL RATING: 4/5

It works great on oily, acne prone and sensitive skin. I just hope it doesn't melt that easily.

WOULD I REPURCHASE? Maybe. I am the type of person who likes trying new stuff so I'll probably buy something different once I used this up. I only have 2 more cubes and I'm done.

What's your favorite LUSH product? Do share them with me so I can check them out. I am definitely gonna try their other stuffs :)

Thank you for dropping by!

Review: Laneige Multi Cleanser

Hello!!!

First of all, thank you so much for those people who told me that Leo was already found..I'm so happy to know that he was found already..so guys, thanks for informing me :)

And as promised, here's another skincare review for you guys..I got a couple of sachets of Laneige Multi Cleanser when I bought my Laneige Pore Clear cleanser...Laneige is in Trinoma is really generous in giving out samples of their products and I'm so thankful that this is one item they gave me..I got really intrigued with this product when I first saw it from Bubzbeauty at Youtube because she said this works great in removing dirt and makeup at the end of the day. I'm a regular makeup user and I travel everyday in a very polluted place (I hate smoke belching buses and jeepneys!), by the time I get home, the dirt on my face is really visible because it's so think arrg! I really am the person who needs a good cleanser. So after trying it out, here's my review...

PROS:
- It really does get the dirt and makeup off! I'm really impressed that even without using my makeup remover prior to this, I still did not get any trace of makeup left when I used my toner.
- Comes in a tube (if you buy the full size) so it's very hygienic and you can squeeze out all the content.
- Smells good. Not strong to make me sneeze or something.
- It contains small beads that does not hurt my sensitive skin.
-You only need a small amount each time so this tube will last you a very long time.

CONS
-A little expensive for me because I can't use it on my eye area so I still need to use a separate eye makeup remover.
-I need to wash my face with warm water in order for it to function 100% effective in removing makeup (esp. liquid foundation)
Will I get the full size? Probably not because I have a separate makeup remover already and my Pore Clear Cleanser works great too and it has the added properties to help with my acne prone skin.
If you like a simpler skincare at the end of the day, this cleanser is definitely for you. You can just wash your face with this and then go to sleep..no need for makeup removers or cleansers because this works as a 2-in-1 product...Very fast for very tired people (or if you're just lazy to do all the rituals hehe...I'm sometimes like that) that you just want to sleep ASAP :)
By the way, I'm fully recovered!!! yay!!! I can now have the energy to post more frequently haha ^_^

Review: Laneige Pore Clear Cleansing Foam

Hello everyone!!!

Surprise! hehe yep! I'm still alive and kicking...pardon me for not posting even once for the past week..I'm just a little busy and also tired from work..I don't really like to type anymore when i get home since I've been typing the whole day already at work..so yeah..but since I don't have work tomorrow, I decided to post today since this review is long overdue ^_^

I have posted my initial take on the Laneige cleansing foam from their Pore Clear line here.

I have been using this product for at least month (I think) already. I use this every night after my Mandom Cleansing Express Sebum which I use to remove my makeup and dirt. I don't really rely on cleansers in removing makeup especially if I use a BB cream.

Description from Laneige website:

- Extracts of water lily, orris and witch hazel effectively eliminate make-up remainders, harmful factors of environmental pollution and wastes in skin pores and purify skin.
- Triclosan and willow bark extracts, which are effective against skin trouble, make clear skin and control skin pore troubles.
- Breakable white scrubbers smoothly eliminate wastes in skin pores. The vitamin E in the blue capsules is absorbed into the skin and makes skin silky and healthy.

My Review:

What I like about it:
- this really cleanses my face. I don't have any makeup or dirt residue when I use my toner after. This is the best cleanser I tried so far :)
- The beads are so fine that you can't feel it in your skin when you're washing.
-it foams up easily so you only need a pea size amount for each wash. This cleanser will last me months for sure.
-smells reallly nice. I can't describe the scent coz I'm bad at that but it's not over powering to the nose.
-it doesn't sting my eyes and it doesn't hurt my nose (this happened to me in strong cleansers I tried before)
-available locally.
-Laneige gives a lot of freebies when you purchase any of their products. They're very generous IMO.

What I don't like about it:
- a little pricey. This 180ml tube cost Php1000 (around $20)
- can be drying to the skin since this is made for the oily ones. If you have combination-oily skin like me, better to use this maximum of once a day only. And prepare a good moisturizer just in case you do get dry skin because of this.

Will I re-purchase this? Definitely! I'll continue buying this until I found something better.
I am really, really happy with my purchase. I can't believe that I will love this product this much. So if you are looking for a good cleanser and you have oily skin, better check this product out. It's really worth trying ^_^
Till next time! I'll be reviewing another skincare product next ^_^

Thank you for dropping by..Bye!

Revisit: The Face Shop Clean Face White Cleanser

0I'm on the roll today! haha This is my 3rd post already. Anyways, as promised, here is my final review for The Face Shop Clean Face White Acne Solution Foam Cleanser.

If you want to read my initial review on this product, click here.

I started using this last July 29, 2009 and I have been continuously using this product everyday since then. For the first 2-3 weeks, I just used this at night because my skin got so dry (I think my skin was still adjusting that time) so I just washed my face with fresh water every morning. But for the last 3 weeks, I've been using this 2x a day already since I usually wake up like a grease ball haha..Anyways, so I have been using this product religiously for more than 6 weeks already.

I LIKE this product because it:

- is affordable (it is only Php645 for a 150ml tube)
- is readily available on all The Face Shop stores locally
- foams easily even with a small amount of product
- can give you a squeeky clean and refreshed feel after washing
- non-drying after your skin got used to it already
- has a mild scent only..so perfect for those who are fragrance-sensitive
- doesn't sting my facial skin or even my nose and eyes
- very mild in my opinion
- did not cause me any breakouts

What I DON't LIKE about this are:

- it did not do anything to my skin tone..I did not notice any whitening effect on my marks at all
- there are still some dirt on my cotton pad when I use my toner..so I'm not sure if this cleanses thoroughly..but for everyday use, it is good.
- it did little in pimple prevention or treatment
- it does not remove all traces of makeup if used as a makeup remover and cleanser in one

OVER-ALL RATING: 4/5 - This is perfect for everyday cleansing but it is not enough to remove your makeup so you still need to use a separate makeup remover. This is not really a problem for me because I do use a separate makeup remover at night. Also, it doesn't whiten so don't expect to get brighter looking skin if used alone.

WILL YOU PURCHASE AGAIN? I'm still thinking about it since I'm really a product junkie so I want to try another facial cleanser after this hehe but if I can't decide on what cleanser to buy after I finished this one, I'll probably buy another tube of this since it works great.

What about you? What's your favorite cleanser? I want to have a list of products to consider so all your input will be appreciated :)

I'm thinking of purchasing the following:
- Murad acne cleanser <--i a="a" ago="ago" and="and" br="br" great="great" have="have" it="it" more="more" than="than" this="this" used="used" works="works" year="year">- Philosphy Purity Made Simple <-- and="and" have="have" i="i" it="it" liked="liked" span="span" this="this" too="too" used="used">
- Avalon cleanser

Hoping for more suggestions! Till next time. Bye! ^_^

The Face Shop Haul

Good morning guys! It's such a great morning coz it's sunny! yehey! I really love cool but sunny days. I hate rainy season coz it's so gloomy. Anyways, I hauled a little yesterday from The Face Shop. I'm pretty sure you have seen their posters about their clean face line (for acne prone skin) whenever you pass by their stores. Well, I was unable to stop myself from dropping by yesterday and I ended up buying their Acne Solution Foam Cleanser (since I need a cleanser in a tube..I think it's more hygienic) and nail polish remover in bubblegum.

Here's my haul picture :)

The Clean Face White - Acne Solution Foam Cleanser. I have only tried it 2x (last night and this morning). Here's my initial review:

PROS
- it comes in a tube that is very easy to squeeze..I can control the amount of product to be dispensed
- price is affordable - Php645 for a 150ml tube
- scent is mild..I like it :)
- not harsh on the skin and nose even if I had used a lot of product
- lathers very well so it is easy for me to massage my whole face..actually, I have not spent this long in washing my face haha..it feels great!
- has a whitening effect so I'm hoping it can help with evening my skintone too

CONS
- makes my skin squeeky clean

Tip: Use a very small amount (pea size) only.

I think I need a good moisturizer to counteract the too clean feel hehe I don't really like to have dry skin in the future coz it will make my skin prone to wrinkles. Any suggestions? I think my Celeteque moisturizer is too light for a night moisturizer :)

I also bought a nail polish remover. I don't like using acetone anymore coz it's so drying and easy to evaporate haha..this cost P95 for a 100ml bottle. I think it is a good buy considering you only need a small amount for removing nail polishes and it also conditions your nails at the same time. And the bubblegum scent comes in a blue color solution..and I love blue haha :)
And since I bought an item from their Clean Face White line, I got a free mirror..It's so cute! I'm just sad coz I got a defective one, it has a scratch on the rim but I did not exchanged it anymore coz it's a freebie anyway haha and the mirror itself is not damaged so I guess it's okay :)
I'll post a feedback once I've used this for a month already..i hope I can see a difference. I'm breaking out on my forehead lately. I'm not sure if it's due to lack of sleep, stress, pollution (from travelling via jeepneys) or because I'm nearing my monthly visit. Anyways, I'm still crossing my fingers ^_^
Till next time! Bye :)
