The magic of makeup

Hello! I have tweeted earlier today that I will be doing a makeup tutorial and upload it tonight but something went wrong during the whole process and I decided to try again another day... I really wanted to film a tutorial to see if I have improved since the last I did it so yeah.

So today, I will be doing a post about what makeup can do to improve our over-all appearance for a party, for example. Here's what I came up with. Guess what I did to make it special ^_^

The other half only has light foundation, concealer and a lip balm. It is very natural and good for everyday but the other side is perfect for parties. It still looks simple and not over the top but I added some things to make my assets more enhanced.

Have you guessed what I used? If you thought false eyelashes, eyebrows and circle lenses then you are correct. Grooming my brows and filling in the gaps to make it look cleaner and frame my face better is one of the steps I just learned last month. I never knew that filled in brows looks better haha I thought I don't neet it coz I have naturally bushy brows but I guess I', wrong.

I also chose to use a brown colored contact lenses instead of the blue or green ones because I didn't want to look too fake. Although I love colored contacts because they are fun (if you noticed from my older posts), but using contact lenses with almost the same shade as my natural color makes it hard for people to guess what I did to look prettier and I learned that I prefer it that way hehe. It actually worked because my mom once told me she can't pinpoint what I did but I look different (We went to a formal event that time) and a lot of people complimented me whenever I use my brown lenses.

Adding false eyelashes also opened up my peepers without me worrying of looking like a raccoon.. I usually don't apply mascara if I have a choice because I have very oily lids and I usually ends up looking like an emo at the end of the day because of that. But I don't suggest using falsies everyday because the glue can make your lashes a lot thinner in the long run coz you can sometimes pull out the lashes during removal.

Products used:

FACE:
Holika Holika Petit Clearing BB Cream
Tony Moly Berry Lovely Tip Concealer in #1
Ever Bilena pink powder blush (no shade name on the palette)
Ellana Minerals HD Powder

EYES:
EO contact lenses in honey (grade 3.50 both eyes...I think I needed to upgrade to 3.75)
Tony Moly Berry Lovely Tip Concealer in #1
MOD Minerals in Splendor (all over the lids)
Coastal Scents white eyeshadow from 88 matte palette (as highlight)
Coastal Scents black eyeshadow from 88 matte paletter (for smudging the liner and on lower lashline)
Tony Moly Backstage gel liner in black 01
MUFE star powder in 902 (inner corners and lower lashline)
Generic false eyelashes
Etude House eyebrow pencil in gray

LIPS:
Victoria's Secret lipgloss in Embrace

You see, you don't need a lot of products to enhance your natural beauty. Just choose one part of your face you want to emphasize and concentrate on that. I chose my eyes coz 99% of the time I wear eyeglasses and whenever I have an event to go to I wanted to show them off hehe.

What about you guys? What part of your face do you want to emphasize more when you do your makeup? Share them on the comment section below. Thank you for dropping by!  ^_^

FOTD @ MC 15th Anniversary Party

Hello! How's everyone? I hope all are doing good :)

It's been a long time since my last FOTD...I even can't remember the last time I dolled up haha ^_^

Anyways, I had the opportunity to do so yesterday because my fave Filipino author and friend Ms. Martha Cecilia celebrated her 15th year anniversary as a romance novel writer. I really had a blast at last night's event and I'm so happy that my makeup and hair cooperated throughout the evening. As expected of a big event, we had a lot of photo taking and those photos will be uploaded at Facebook and our fans club's forum (eirycat.proboards50.com) so you should always be ready to have your picture taken anytime. Can i just say it's a success? yup! It is a success! Kudos to the organizers because everything was perfect: from the venue to the food.. Till our next event Eirycats! ^_^

Skin Diary Update

Hello everyone! How are you guys? I hope everyone's okay and having a good, fun weekend.

We've been having a very hot weather lately..it is really summer already...although I love summer personally, but my skin doesn't...If you have been following my Skin Diary Update posts, you probably know already that I have been experiencing some rashes on my face and chest because of the heat...

Well, I went to my doctor early this morning to have another checkup so that she can see if my skin improved with the new clarifying toner she made for me...sadly, it just helped with my acne alone..I am now totally acne-free which is a great news for me but it would be nicer if my rashes went away with it too hehe ^_^

Anyways, when she checked on me earlier, I still have a lot of rashes especially on my forehead (I think it's worse than last week since it's been hotter lately)...She explained to me that since we can't control the weather, we'll just try to control the temparature of my face...hehe now, that's the way to think :)

So, with this said, I need to apply cold compress on my face 3x a day, 3-5 minutes each time. The cold compress is just a face towel dipped with ice-cold water...then after tmy skin cooled down, I will apply a solution for the rash...She told me that she made it again (after she stopped making them bec. no one needed it for quite sometime) because a lot of her clients are also experiencing the rashes due to the heat...We are really crossing our fingers that by helping my skin to cool down, it will have the chance to recover and hopefully, my rashes will gradually disappear.

I am just so lucky that I work in a place that has air-conditioner...I don't know what will happen to me if I don't spend my 9 hours in a cool place.

I am scheduled to be back to the dermatologist in 2 weeks..I'll update you guys..sorry, I can't do FOTDs coz I still can't put makeup on...

Oh, before I say goodbye, I just want to share with you all that my youngest sibling, my only sister, Mei, graduated last Thursday! Yay! Congratulations to my parents coz no more tuition fees haha and conratulations to my sister for being able to finish college smoothly.

*Even though we used the beauty shot mode here, I can still see my rashes haha..Oh, we bought contact lenses from EO last week..it's in a buy one take one promo so we decided to get colored ones...I wore "coffee" and my sis wear "ultramarine"...What do you think? does the contacts look nice? I really thought "coffee" can make me have the eyes of the Cullens but it became green on me when I wore it haha ^_^
Here's a happy shot with our parents after the graduation ^_^

CHECK OUT MY 1st CONTEST HERE ^_^

Till my next post! Happy weekend! ^_^

Review: Freshlook Colorblends - Green

Hi guys! How's your weekend? I hope everything went well :)

Ayways, I spent my weekend with my grandparents..Everything went well except 2 things..First, when I woke up that morning (Saturday), my glasses were already twisted..I think someone accidentally stepped on it the night before but no one was talking..the sad thing is, I was not able to find my old glasses that morning and I need to go out so I opened my new Freshlook Dailies Contact lenses in Green Colorblends. Here's what I look with them on..it has been so long since I last wore a tinted contacts..What do you think? :)

Here's my take on these contact lenses :)
PROS:
- very comfortable to wear
- since it is disposable, it is very hygienic
- I think it looks natural on me..I'm not sure though on what others think hehe :)
- size is just enough unlike with circle lenses that makes your eyes look a lot bigger
CONS:
- more expensive than extended wear contact lenses
- the tinted part disturbs my vision frequently during the day..my vision blurs whenever the contacts moves
- it can't be worn for a very long time
When I got home, I prepared to remove the contact lenses. When I was trying to remove the lens on my right eye, it won't budge. I tried so many ways upto the point that I wanted to pinch it. Then I thought that it got dry so I put some contact lens solution on both my eyes to lubricate it. Luckily, it worked a little and I was able to remove my contact lens but I tore it in the process because of the force I used. My eyes got so irritated and red that I worried my cornea was scratched. This is the first time I encountered this problem with contact lenses. Was it because its dailies? Does that mean extended wear lenses are safer? Anyways, I'm just happy that I found my old eye glasses so I don't need to wear my other pair of contacts anytime soon..
Has any of you experienced this? It was really scary coz I thought I'm going to go blind or I need to be brought in the hospital that night... I'm so thankful that I can still see clearly..

Till next time. Bye!
