Review: Kat Von D Saint & Sinner Eyeshadow Palette (+ swatches for Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette)

Welcome back! 😄

As I was checking through my Sephora app for new releases (like usual, window shopping is real  hehe), I noticed that the Kat Von D Saint & Sinner eyeshadow palette is now back on stock! I was actually sad that I won't be able to review this because no one can get it anymore. So this news is great because when Kat Von D says limited edition, once it's out, it is out forever.

This is my first ever first ever high end palette here in Canada. I have contemplated for so long before I picked it up because (1) it is so expensive & (2) I'm not sure I can get a lot of use out of it. I was actually encouraged to get it by the Youtubers that I respect the opinions of when it comes to quality of products. Jen of JenLuvsReviews, Liv of Livloveshermakeup & Jkissa all raved about the good quality of these eyeshadows & the ingredients so it really made me want to but it more. I convinced myself that with the 20% off from the VIB sale, it would be worth it LOL 😂

Vegan

Made in Canada  -  Net Wt. 24 x 1g (0.04 oz)

I really liked the packaging. It is not practical but is really gorgeous. It is said that Kat Von D designed this herself. It is shaped like a cathedral and the shade arrangements reflects the colors of stained glasses in churches. The palette is divided into 2- the SAINT side which is the more natural, everyday colors & the SINNER which consists of more vibrant and fun colors. This has a mixture of mattes, shimmers and toppers.

Look how vibrant the swatches are! These are all finger swatches without any eyeshadow primer. To be honest, I am really attracted to the Sinner side more because I just love colors so much!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS PALETTE:

- Cruelty free & Vegan. This means this product don't have any carmine (pigments from bugs) in it which is very rare in the cosmetic industry. If I can get a product without killing any kind of creature then that's the best way to go.

- Very pigmented & consistent. I have tried a lot of eyeshadows that swatches beautifully but doesn't translate to your eyelids, and I am glad to say Kat Von D shadows not only applies smoothly on the lid with or without primer but it also stays vibrant throughout the day too.

- Buildable & blendable. I know others prefer to have a very strong pigment at one go but I prefer it to be buildable because it is easier to blend. I can just get some product little by little and then blend. This way, I don't make mistakes easily and I can achieve the look & intensity I want depending on what I like at that moment.

- I really enjoyed the color selection. I can create a complete look with just this palette. I have shades for crease, highlight, lid, accent & even colors to deepen the look. I won't need other supplemental palettes or eyeshadows because everything I need is here.

- Packaging is sturdy. I can travel with this palette & not worry that the eyeshadows will get crashed. I also love that it has magnetic closure that doesn't open up very easily.

- I am happy that I could create lots of looks from this ranging from no-makeup makeup look to edgy & colorful. I really am surprised that I get inspired whenever I open this even though I am not an artist

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

- The price. It is so expensive! $83 CAD plus 13% tax, all in all almost a hundred bucks for a palette of 24 shadows. I don't think I can buy this without the discount.

- Even though I love the packaging, it is so hard to store since it is big. Maybe once I get a vanity table I can look for ways to display it haha

- It says in the packaging that this will expire in 9 months after opening. Although I don't follow the expiry date, I am worried that this will go bad faster than my other eyeshadows.

- Limited edition. I hate limited edition products because once I used it up or something happened to this, how will I replace it?

- Other people might get a hard time creating looks from this palette because of the arrangement of the shadows. I didn't mind it but others can get overwhelmed easily & get stuck on ideas because the shadows are scattered & was not layed out in a way that guides users in creating a look.

RECOMMENDED?
Definitely! You should buy this if you love a very versatile eyeshadow palette & you love playing with colors. These are very pigmented & blends easily so it is perfect for regular makeup lovers like me. I will definitely buy more Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes in the future if there will be new releases since I really love the quality, though I wish her products are not so expensive haha that's really a draw back most of the time.

By the way, sorry if I don't have any pictures using this palette. I was planning to do so but my eyelids were still super dry & flaky until now from the extreme weather conditions here in Winnipeg (-40 degrees!). I am not wearing any makeup for the last 2 weeks now because my skin from head to toe are so dry. I promise to post makeup looks soon once I get better skin condition. Crossing my fingers my new moisturizer will help.

BONUS:

I got the Urban Decay Heavy Metals eyeshadow palette last Christmas when it went on sale for just $35 from $72 CAD. I was actually aiming to get it when it first came out but I can't get over the price especially since I just bought the $82 KVD palette. Lucky for me, they went on sale and was able to grabbed it before it went out of stock. Although I have seen it on Shoppers Drug Mart website a week ago so I'm not sure if they still have some on stock.

I have actually not used this yet on my eyes, but based on first impression with the finger swatches, this will look bomb! I bought this because I love very shimmery eyeshadow looks but I hate the need to use glitter glue, so this is perfect. Also, it has all the shades I will need to create a look & it will go nicely with my other eyeshadow palette that lacks glittery colors.

Review: Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks

Hello everyone! How's the weather in your are right now? Here in Winnipeg, I still can't believe I am saying that -10 degrees is warm LOL. Well if you had 3 weeks of -30 to -40 degrees wind chill then you will understand why. 😜

I planned on posting reviews for Holiday 2017 collections that are still available right now but majority of what I have are already out of stock so there's no point anymore because you guys won't be able to buy them. These are the only items I have on hand that were released during the holidays and are still available as of today.

Kat Von D released a set of 8 mini liquid lipstick for holiday 2017, only 1 shade (Madrid) is new and the rest are regular colors. I am not really fond of liquid lipstick in general because I have very dry chapped lips and all of the drugstore brands that I've tried made my lips even drier. But after getting the Sephora Give Me Some Bold Lips set last November which included 1 Kat Von D mini liquid lipstick, I fell in love with the formula. I got so intrigued if it is just a fluke or if high end brands do have better liquid lipstick formula, and this set came out just in time because I can test a lot of shades in one go.

Each mini liquid lipstick contains 3ml of product and the set costs $66 CAD.

Here are the swatches of all 8 shades included in the set. I do have pigmented lips so please keep that in mind.

You can see in the swatches how it looks right after application versus after letting it dry for a minute. Only Witches and Exorcism needed 2 coats for it to be even and more opaque. If you will see the picture of Hawkwind, it also shows the difference in shade if you applied 2 coats after letting the 1st layer dry first. If you wanted to achieve the intensity of the color in the bottle, I would suggest you do 2 layers of application.

I also got 3 out 4 of the limited edition Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks that Kat Von D created to benefit Farm Sanctuary, an organization committed to ending farm animal cruelty. 20% of the retail price will go directly to Farm Sanctuary to support their mission. I was only able to get 3 because Bruno was out of stock when I ordered these. Each shade represents an animal in the Farm Sanctuary.

Each tube of liquid lipstick contains 6.6ml of product and costs $24 CAD at Sephora.

And this is the shade that I got from the Sephora kit - K Dub

What I liked about Kat Von D liquid lipsticks:

- This is a cruelty free brand and according to the package these liquid lipsticks are also vegan. I love supporting brands that take the extra step in helping animals in poor conditions.

- Long lasting and transfer-proof. I wear scarves on a daily basis and it usually covers my nose & mouth but you will not see any lipsticks stain on any of them.

- Matte finish but not drying. I can definitely feel that I have lipstick on my lips but they don't feel uncomfortable. I can wear these liquid lipstick for 8hrs and my lips will not become any drier than normal.

*Shot of my lips after wearing the lipstick for 8 hours. I was talking and drinking water too

- Great pigmentation. As you can see in the lip swatches, they look good even on 1 layer only which is how I wear them most of the time. I do believe it would take some time before I can use these all up haha

- I love how light the scent is and that there is no flavor. I really hate lipsticks that taste or smell floral.

- Consistency in the line regardless of shade. I have 12 Kat Von D liquid lipsticks from nudes to black and they all perform the same.

- I love how easy it is to apply. The doe foot applicator spreads the product evenly and it just carries just enough amount of product for 1 layer of color.

- Wide range of colors to choose from. You can definitely find something you like.

What I don't like:

- I prefer the applicator of the mini compared to the full size. It's not because of the doe foot applicator as they are the same, I guess I get more control with the shorter wand? I really don't know but it is easier to get a clean straight edge with the mini wand.

- Expensive. A full size costs $24 CAD! And I probably won't be able to finish it since I have a lot of lipstick on my collection.

- This set has shades that are too close to each other that when I applied it on my lips I couldn't see too much difference. I am not a makeup artist so I can't appreciate the subtle variation in shades. I hope the next mini set they came out with would contain more colors.

Will I buy again?
Definitely! I think Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid lipsticks is my favorite among all the brands I've tried. I know I won't be able to use up the full size so unless they came out with another collection that will benefit another organization that helps animals, then I will just get the minis.

Product Review: Human Heart Nature All Natural Deodorant Stick

Hello everyone! I hope all of you are doing great. Me, not so good because I got sick but I'm getting better now so everything is going well so far. =)

Today I would like to share my experience with this new Human Heart Nature deodorant in stick form. I didn't try their roll on deo before because I don't like having to wait for it to dry before I can put on my clothes. So when this product came out last year, I bought it to try since I would like to switch brands. My previous deo is all natural too that I got from Healthy Options but that one has such a strong scent that I feel like it irritates my underarms.

Price: Php 199.75
Scent available: Powder Fresh
Deodorant Stick
According to the Human Heart Nature website:

12 Deo Benefits1 Deo Brand:
1. Tea tree oil fights odor-causing bacteria
2. Instant-dry formula
3. Non-sticky after-feel
4. Sunflower oil helps lighten underarms
5. Smoothens underarms
6. Easy to rinse with no flaky buildup
7. No stains or streaks on clothes
8. No harsh alcohol that can darken underarms
9. No aluminum salts
10. No phthalates (synthetic fragrances)
11. No triclosan
12. No parabens

PROS:

- The scent is mild & fresh, definitely not overwhelming which I love.

- It didn't stained my clothes.

- All natural & locally made.

- Cruelty free. This is the main selling point for me when I tried this.

- This worked great in smoothening my underarm if I used it with their Sunflower oil at bedtime.

- Easy to wash off during shower, no residue.

- It didn't darken my underarm.

- No irritation whatsoever.

- Easy to apply & dry as it is in stick form.

CONS:

- The deodirizing effect only last for around 6-8 hrs but after that your sweat will start to get some odor. I'm not sure if it's just my body chemistry reacting to left over products at the end of the day or it's because the product has came off & mixed on the sweat on my shirt. Nevertheless, I don't think this will be my product of choice during the humid summer weather. It even made me have a BO at the end of the day which is not nice. I can last a whole day with just a whitening cream on my underarm & I won't get any body odor so I'm pretty sure this deodorant is the culprit.

- The stick crumbles easily so you better be careful in swiping it.

OVER-ALL RATING: 2.5/5
I love everything about this deo & I would have been happy with it if only it didn't cause me to have body odor. Really, the reason I use a deo is to make sure I still smell fresh after my 10hrs workday but since this product fell short on that, I think I'll continue on trying more brands. I really need one especially now that summer is coming.

WILL I RE-PURCHASE? Definitely not. Milcu is way better. Even my whitening cream is better than this one in keeping me smelling fresh. I'm really disappointed in this product.

What are your favorite deodorants? Please share them at the comment section below so I can try them out. =)

Review: Carmen Claire Shine Patrol Powder

How's everyone? We are currently celebrating a 4-day holiday right now here in the Philippines for Holy Week.  It's really the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time w/my family & to be thankful for all the blessings we have received. I just hoped that I am not spending it sick like now.. the changing of weather brought me cough & colds. anyhow, I'm feeling better now so I can do my thing here & review this product.

I first encounter this product in one of Say's Youtube video wherein she road-tested this Carmen Claire Shine Patrol powder throughout the day. I got intrigued because it is a local brand & based on their website they use high quality ingredients from the US. So I did purchase myself in Medium Light
*photo from carmenclair.com
Mine is still in the old packaging which is in a black square case w/o the plastic shield for the sponge.Pardon the state of my compact, it's well loved so it got a little battered inside my kikay kit hehe.

PRODUCT INFO:
Net Wt: 0.4 oz or 11.3g
4 Shades available
Price: Php 415.00
Made in USA
More info regarding the product in the website.

MY REVIEW:

YAY!

 - It controls oil very well. I don't usually need to touch up throughout the day (maybe around 8hrs) if I applied this w/a sponge on top of my foundation. That is an important point, because when I applied it using a brush it didn't do well & I oiled up quite fast. I guess you need to pack in the product to do its job.

-It didn't made me itch even when I am perspiring. I have skin asthma & it's a good sign if I don't get irritated during hot weather.

- Cruelty free. It has a bunny logo in the label and it's really hard to find options for cruelty free brands here in the country so this is definitely a big plus.

- Talc & Paraben Free. For those sensitive skin ladies, this a good product to try.

- They add in 2 more shades now so they already have 4 shades available to choose from.

NAY!

- Like I said, the oil control of this product is kind of a hit or miss every time I use it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's great on top of foundation but if I use it alone on bare skin I still oil up.

- Can give you a cakey matte look because you need to use the sponge for it to work well.

- Not sure if this is causing me comedones or not. I will try it again after my skin clear up to double check.

- I can't use the whole pan because after a couple of uses, a hard surface on the powder appear & it stays even if I try to scrape the top layer.

- Quite pricey for almost P500. It's almost the same price as Ben Nye banana powder & that contains more product & it's a famous brand.

OVER-ALL RATING:
It's a 4/5 if it works but a 2/5 on days it doesn't. So all in, I give this product a 3/5. There are better products out there for the price. I wouldn't repurchase this after I used it up because I love my products to be consistent in their performance.

What about you guys? Have you tried this or wanted to? Have you tried other  Carmen Claire Cosmetics products? Do share them in the comments section below so I can check them out :)

Review: Alba Botanica Natural Acnedote Invisible Treatment Gel

Hello everyone! Please stay dry because it's raining hard again and it's quite easy to get the flu.

Anyways, you might have noticed that I haven't been posting a lot of facial products these last few months and I wanted to tell you why. My skin is definitely rebelling right now because I have been breaking out for more than 2 months now. I can't seem to find out the culprit and I am trying to remove the products I use one by one to check if that's causing all these problems. I have also not been applying makeup except for undereye concealer and lipstick because I don't want to aggregate the condition of my skin. The only constant thing I apply on my skin are my basic skincare which are my cleanser, toner and treatment gel.

I have bought the Alba Botanica Natural Acnedote Invisible Treatment Gel at Healthy Options more than 2 months ago to try and test if it will work better than the oil control lotion I tried before from this line. I have read reviews that this is the main treatment from the line and that it works great so I went ahead and got it since it's really affordable at Php300+ only. And I'm really in need of a treatment fix for my skin. I have been using this 2x a day for 2 months now and here's my thoughts on this product.

*photo credit from the Alba Botanica website*

HIGHLIGHTS:
100% Vegetarian.
No: Animal Testing, Artificial Colors, Artificial Fragrances, Parabens, Phthalates, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Myreth Sulfate

INGREDIENTS:

Active Ingredient: Salicylic Acid 2.0 %

Other Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, SD Alcohol 40-B, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (1), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Spiraea Ulmaria Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Fruit Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract (1), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract (1), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract (1), Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (1), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract (1), Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Rhizome/Root, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil (2), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil (2), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil (2), Citral, Limonene, Linalool (1) Certified Organic Ingredient; (2) Natural Fragrance

MY REVIEW

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

- This is an all natural product and Salicylic Acid usually works for my skin.

- It did not cause any allergic reaction to my sensitive skin.

- Very affordable. Just around P300 and it will definitely last you months because you will only need a small amount at a time.

- It comes in a squeeze tube with a pointed tip so controlling the amount of product that will be dispensed is easy.

- No strong scent.

- Spreads easily and dries up fast and clear so it can be used just prior to makeup application.

- Cruelty free, vegan product.

- Available locally in all Healthy Options store.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

- Makes my skin dry up and therefore makes it oilier. Although this is a common effect of acne treatment so it's not a big deal for me. I just wanted to share it as a headsup.

- Doesn't do anything. My skin's condition looks and feels the same with or without this in my skin care routine.

- This will definitely not work for active acne because even my pimples can't be treated by this.

OVER-ALL RATING: 1/5

I think this is just a waste of money. It doesn't do anything because it did not treat my existing pimples and it doesn't prevent new ones from appearing.I'm giving up on this. I have been using this 2x a day for 2 months now because I want to give it time to work on me but I guess I need to look for another acne treatment soon before my skin gets worse. I am now starting to have cystic acne again so that's a bad sign.

Can you guys suggest anything? I am eyeing MyChelle products right now because I have been reading a lot of good stuff about them. But they are so expensive here in the Philippines and I am worried that they won't work for me again. If you have trusted acne products do share them with me. Thank you!

MY VERY OWN CRUELTY FREE LIST

2/7/16 WARNING: This list might not be updated as you are reading this. I have been in hiatus for 2 yrs & have not conducted a new survey yet to check if these brands are still cruelty-free or not. I will start on researching again for local brands that are cruelty free.

As promised, I have inquired to a lot of companies that are locally available either through stores, mall kiosks or online (website or resellers) about their animal testing policy. I know that there's already a list of cruelty free brands online BUT not all of the brands I am interested in are there especially if those brands are from small companies or not from USA and EU, so I have decided to inquire on my own. More and more brands are coming here in the Philippines and having no bunny logo doesn't mean they are not cruelty free. PLUS Philippines doesn't have our very own special NGO to inquire, check and collate all the brands produced locally that don't conduct animal testing so we really don't have any list and a bunny logo to base on.

Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope this can help a lot of you. Let's all spread the word and support cruelty free brands. Animals don't need to be harmed for cosmetics purposes especially if there are already a lot of ingredients that are already proven to be effective and no further testing is required.  Also, there are already a lot of in-vitro testing available for use to check compatibility and safety and I bet those are more reliable than using mice or bunny skin since in-vitro can mimic human DNA better.

You can also help by inquiring to the brands that you like (you can use the set of questions I did) and share their answers to me through the comment section below so that I can update my list :)

Thanks!

======================

MY QUESTIONS for the companies:
1. Do you (or a third party on your behalf) test your products on animals?
2. Does any of your materials/ingredients ever been tested on animals?
3. Do you sell in countries that require animal testing (like China and Brazil)?
4. Is your company prepared to make a commitment against any new animal testing from this day forward?

*Special thanks to Ms. Kim Paschen of Leaping Bunny for giving me advice on how to word my inquiry and make it better. Thank you so much for the assistance :)

DISCLAIMER:
1.) This list is purely based on TRUST. I have sent these companies an inquiry through email and I based my list on their answers. I did not conduct any other checking aside from the email. This list is not in any form complete because only a few of the brands replied to my inquiry.

2.) I have only included the brands that I see locally either through local online resellers or physical stores. If you can't find the brand you are looking for, there's a chance that I am not familiar with the brand or they have not answered my inquiry.

3.) I have also based my list on the brand's stand on animal testing through their website. I have also included brands from the BUAV, PETA and Leaping Bunny lists and by other well known cruelty free blogs like My Beauty Bunny, Logical Harmony and Veggie Beauty.

4.) This list may not be updated. I will promise though that I will try my best to update it as often as I can.

I have included below the responses I received from the companies that I inquired to. Please feel free to read them if you want more info why I decided they can be included in my list.

EVER BILENA
*the answer in Q#2 is what made me unsure. I have sent a follow up inquiry to clarify that part but I haven't received any response as of today 7/18/2013

1.    Do you (or a third party on your behalf) test your products on animals?

-No. We don’t involve animals in our testing. During the course of product development, we have some volunteers in our company that try our products. We do it responsibly and with the full knowledge of the users. We also have a third party testing laboratory owned and managed by a respectable dermatologist. She uses volunteer as panels to do the special testing that our in house laboratory is not capable of.

2.       Does any of your materials/ingredients ever been tested on animals?

-Our suppliers use ingredients that are approved by FDA Philippines . If in case they are restricted, we comply with their minimum limits. As far as Ever Bilena is concerned, we do our testing on humans.

3.       Do you sell in countries that require animal testing (like China and Brazil )?

-We don’t sell our products to the countries mentioned above. Right now, we are catering the whole Philippines . However, we do have future plans to export our products. Please note that Ever Bilena complies with Asean Cosmetics Directive-a set of rules followed by the regulatory bodies from the member-states of ASEAN (ex: Malaysia , Thailand , Singapore , Indonesia ..etc), which permits us to sell our items to these countries without problems since we follow the same set of regulations.

4. Is your company prepared to make a commitment against any new animal testing from this day forward?

-Yes we are. Here at Ever Bilena, we care for our consumers as well as the environment.

We hoped that we have addressed your questions. Here at Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc., we can proudly say that we care for the Animals and we support the advocacy to stop the use of Animals for testing.

MEMEME COSMETICS

“I'm pleased to say that none of our products are tested on animals.”

*I have sent a follow up inquiry to clarify if they can guarantee that all of their suppliers of materials do not conduct animal testing. I haven't received any response as of today 7/19/2013

BYS COSMETICS
"BYS Cosmetics are not tested on animals."

*I have sent the inquiry but I haven't received any feedback from the company as of today 7/19/2013. This statement is based on their website.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA
“We are proud to say that we are Australian made and owned and 100% against animal testing.”

*I have sent the inquiry but I haven't received any feedback from the company as of today 7/19/2013. This statement is based on their website.

HERE ARE THE STATEMENTS I HAVE RECEIVED FROM MY INQUIRIES:

BARE NATURALS MINERAL COSMETICS
All the ingredients we use in our natural products are plant-based. Our answer is no to questions 1-3 and YES for the 4th one.

VIRGINIA OLSEN MINERALS
“We do not test on animals. All our makeup are made from 100% pure mineral ingredients, thus guaranteed to be safe and effective even on people with sensitive skin. There are no harmful chemicals and ingredients included. We are also proud of our brushes because they are 100% eco-friendly, vegan and cruelty-free.”

COASTAL SCENTS
“Thank you for your interest in our cosmetic line. We do not test any products on animals and we only support suppliers that do the same. All of our products are produced cruelty free and no animals are harmed. A corresponding affirmation can be found on our website under our About Us section. We trust this will be helpful and if you have any further questions, please advise.”

LEYENDE
1. We manufacture all our products from scratch. Even packaging and labelling are done at our workshop. The only thing outsourced is the product microbiological testing to make sure our products are hygienic and up to quality standards. The lab we outsource to is Qualibet, and they do not perform animal testing on any of our products;
2. Because we are gunning for Ecocert and Halal certification, we use only plant-based or plant-derived ingredients. The ingredients we choose are Ecocert-certified as well, so it's documented as not tested on animals. Even our preservative is approved by Ecocert for natural and organic cosmetics. We used to use organic Meyenberg goat's milk for our soaps, but we are seriously considering dropping this ingredient;
3.) We have held off selling in China and other Chinese territories because they require mandatory animal testing by their own labs for all cosmetics that pass through their borders. We also do not export to Brazil;
4.) Since we want a Halal certification for our products, we are committed against animal testing, and will not use any animal products, GMOs or human by-products (blood, placenta, stem cells) in our production process and finished products;

“We do not test any of our cosmetics on animals or ask anyone else to test for us. This applies to the final products as well as any of the ingredients in them. Because Essence is strictly against any kind of animal testing whatsoever.  We think it is absolutely awful to torture animals for the sake of beauty products. “

LOOK BEAUTY
“Our products are not tested on animals and are 100% cruelty free. We are not part of any approved organization as in doing so would increase over heads dramatically and we would have to increase the price of our products.
Our products are not Vegan or Vegetarian suited as some of the ingredients are derived from sources not accepted by Vegans or Vegetarians. If you would like more info on the ingredients, please see our ingredients page on the website.”

NARS

"NARS does not test on animals, nor do we have any other parties, such as suppliers, conduct any animal testing on our behalf. NARS uses only the highest quality ingredients which have a proven safety record and are widely used in the cosmetics industry."

VMV HYPOALLERGENICS
“In vitro means testing done in a laboratory. Many of our tests are in vitro, but we're proud to say that we also do an extensive amount of in vivo testing. In vivo means testing done with human volunteers in actual-use conditions.
No animal testing. Our standards are so high that we have no shortage of volunteers (the human kind) who are eager to try new products. Plus, we do extensive laboratory (microbial, stability, etc.) testing to ensure both efficacy and safety.
