Review: Kojie San Kojic Acid Soap

Howdy! It's already November 8 today and I can't believe how fast the new year is coming. All we know, we'll just wake up and it's already 2013 :)

Today, I'll be doing a review on a product that I have been using on and off for a year now. On and off meaning... I'll buy a box, use it up, then move on to another product, then after a couple of months buy it again then the cycle continues hehe :)

KOJIE SAN Skin Lightening Soap (Kojic Acid)
I prefer buying the small one coz it lessen the hassle of cutting the big bar into pieces and this is more affordable for me. This Php50 box contains 2pcs 65g bar of Kojic Acid soap.

INGREDIENTS:

Each piece is individually wrapped to preserve the freshness.

I still cut them into 2 small pieces to prevent melting too much soap coz I only use this for my face anyway so a small chunk is enough to create a lather.I then store the cube inside my empty case of Shiseido Medicated Powder (it fits perfectly!).

PROS:

- I love that this doesn't melt as easily as other kojic acid soap.

- I love the fresh scent of orange.

- Being individually wrapped helped in prolonging the shelf life of the soap. Easy storage too.

- Cleanses my face well.

- This helps in drying out my pimples so I always buy this whenever I get breakouts.

- Regarding whitening, I am naturally fair already so I can't see any difference with this brand.
BUT kojic acid is guaranteed to make your skin look brighter because I have been using Kojic Acid soap since college and it really helped lighten my skin before. Just be patient with it :)

- Affordable. Only P50 for 130g worth of soap.

- Can easily bought in any supermarket and department store.

CONS:

- Can be drying like with all whitening products so moisturizer is a must

- There's no note where this is made but it is distributed by BEVI here in the Philippines. I just hope there's some sort of information about that.

OVER-ALL RATING: 5/5
I always repurchase this whenever I'm out of option or can't decide what facial wash I will buy next. It's like my go to facial wash hehe. I know I won't get any harsh reaction to this plus it's cheap. What more can you ask for, right? :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Review: Lush Soap (Honey)

Hi everyone! Remember my Japan gifts post? There's a lot of Lush products there but I only tried this soap because the other one is for bath tubs and I don't have a bath tub to use it..anyway, the bar looks and smells like honey. I'm not really sure of the name of this because the label is in Japanese but I did a research in the net and I'm thinking that this might be the name..

Honey I Washed The Kids

According to the site:
"Mouth-watering honey soap for washing you, the kids, the dog and the granny. Real honey hand and body soap to soothe and sweetly scent your skin."
Price: Php 245.00
Although my bar looks different from the one on the site, I'm really guessing that they are the same because it was the only honey soap there haha ^_^

I have tried this soap and here's my review:

PROS
- smells great
- moisturizing
- doesn't melt that easily (if kept dry)
- soft on the skin (unlike some organic bath soaps that scratches because of the content)
- the size can be cut into 3-4 pieces..so it is a big bar

CONS
- the smell it leaves on the skin only lasts for a couple of minutes :(
- a little expensive for me

Will I purchase this? hmm I still can't decide. If ever it did something good on my skin after I finished the whole bar, then I will buy it if not..probably not..I'll just get a good smelling body wash from Marks & Spencer (the scent of these last long on me).

What about you? Have you tried any Lush products? Are they worth the price? Share your experiences in the comments area..or you can put the link of your review so I can read them..Thank yoU! till my next post! ^_^

Venus & Mars haul + Embodyment lip butter (Initial Review)

Sorry if I was not able to post these last few days..I went mountain climbing again with my family this Holy Week :)

Anyways, I already got my Venus & Mars package last week. It came in this packaging. Very "earthy" hehe :)

I got myself the Summer Package #6 of Venus & Mars. It contains Bare It All Emu Cream, Vanilla Spa Milk Salt, CPC+G and Lulur Soap. I also got another tube of their emu oil lip balm coz I used up my first tube already. And since I bought this from a reseller (she lives near my house!), I also got Embodyment lip butter from her. And like with all my organic stuffs, I will give these products at least 2-3 weeks to see if they will work for me or not.

I love the Bare It All Emu Cream! I think this will be a summer staple for me..it keeps my skin cool for around 15 minutes after application..It is also not sticky and absorbs easily into my skin..Since this has no scent (I can't smell anything), my brother doesn't complain so I like that too :)
The Vanilla Spa Milk Salt is very unique in my opinion. It comes in a powder form..it's like a powder milk..the scent is heavenly..I love it very much..I tried it on my body already and it feels like rubbing sugar on my skin..not painful at all! and after I rinse it off with water, my skin feels so smooth and soft..and I smell good too :)

The package also included the CPC+G..it is supposed to be a whitening agent that you will put in any of your creams..you just need to put a few drops (formula: x/30 times 3 or 6) depending on the volume of your cream or lotion and it will become a great whitening cream already..I added this on my Bare It All Emu Cream since I want to even out my skin tone.
I think I've found my favorite organic body soap in V&M's Lulur soap. It is the best I have tried! It's sudsier than others, I can use it directly on my skin, I feel clean afterwards, makes my skin soft and moisturized, I love the ingredients, and the scent is not over powering (though I would like it better if it comes in Vanilla scent too hehe). I hope the effect on my skin after continous use will be great and rewarding :)

This is my first Embodyment product. I was intrigued coz it has tint. I love the tint it gives on my lips. Not that red but not pale. It moisturizes my lips but not as great as my HG lip balm (V&M emu oil lip balm). I'm also not fond of the flavor especially if I accidentally "eat" it when I eat something or lick my lips (one of my mannerism). I'm still thinking if I like this or not hehe :)

Please check out my final review on these products after a couple of weeks. Ciao! :)

My latest V&M and Skin Hour Haul with a Review

Here's my latest organic haul from 2 of my fave brands now..I got myself some Venus&Mars' Royal Pearl Soap and Skin Hour's Lucia Body Cream because of the raves it got :)

I haven't tried V&M Royal Pearl soap yet coz I still don't have a go signal at the moment from my derma..but if I can't help it, I'll probably use it on my body first haha..I also got another sweet note from Jamie..thanx Jamie! I hope I'll like it too :D

My sister wants to order another pot of Skin Hour Revitaleyes balm coz our pot is going low already..so I thought of trying their new Body Cream since it was on sale and I am looking for another body lotion to use on my super dry legs..I have tried it already..I like the smell coz it is very light but my brother don't like it..he always complain to me whenever I put some cream on myself haha..we share the same room so it is hard for the 2 of us..this is also my problem with my V&M Cleopatra rub..i love it but my bro and bf don't...I don't know what's with guys..they always complain about the scent of lotions and cologne if it is sweet smelling hehe :D
Anyways, Skin Hour Body Cream is suppposed to give intense moisture..and if paired with their body scrub, it will definitely soften your dry skin..in my experience, it does moisturize and absorbs well..it is not sticky and heavy even if it is hot..I like this lotion but sadly, I think I need a heavier duty one for my dry and scaly legs to be used at night coz it just lessened the dryness but not totally healed it..as I've said, the scent is light and not overpowering to the nose.. I love the tub container coz it is so easy to get products and I can finish it up to the last drop unlike with squeeze or pump bottles :)
I also got a sweet note from Char and a sample of their liquid body loofah..she's so sweet coz she sent me a sample to try it with the body creme..they have the same scent and I love the texture..it does not scratch my skin at all..and I feel clean after shower..love it! I'll definitely get myself a tub once I used up all of my body scrubs..thanx Char! :)

I'll comeback with a review on V&M Royal Pear soap after I used it for a month..Ciao! :)

Cyleina Organic Haul

Because of the rave, I gave in and got myself some Cyleina Organic soaps. I love organic products and since I'm also looking for whitening soaps I gave this brand a try. Why not get 2 things I'm looking for in one product right? So I got the super famous Black Pearl (P60), Rice Bran (P65) and Strawberry (P65) soap variants. I plan to use the Black Pearl soap on my face but since I'm still under treatment, I'll just test this on my underarms and butt area first and see if they will get lighter. The Rice Bran variant is antibacterial and whitening so it is great for the body while the Strawberry soap is an exfoliator so this is best used 2x a week..I plan to test out the soaps one kind per 2 weeks so that I will know if my skin is okay with or not :)

I have so many insect bite marks on my legs so I hope this combination of soaps will help me even out my color..wish me luck! I'll post a followup feedback after a month :)

What about you? Have you used these soaps already? I would like to hear your feedbacks about them ..thanx! Ciao!

a Rant and an Update

hi guys!

Sorry I was not able to update my blog lately...I'm just too pre-occupied by my NCLEX review but I'll be posting some reviews when I'm not too busy...maybe this weekend or next week :)

Oh yeah, I had a haircut last Sunday with my favorite stylist..I have some girl-bonding time with my mom, sis and tita Jen..we asked for our trusty hair stylist Mr. Sunny (he works in Razzle Dazzle Salon before..he already transferred to a new salon in Timog now) to do a home service for us...all four of us are now sporting a shorter 'do...but I'm not fond of my new haircut..it's not as beautiful as the last one I had with him...it's just so-so (he always gives us perfectly crafted hairstyles before so I don't know why I have this cut) and I'm not feeling it yet..I love having short hair but I'm not happy with the way my bob looks...It's not ugly or bad but it's not that beautiful either...I have this hobby of just letting my stylist decide on what style to do with my hair...and since I trust him, I just told him that I want to have some bangs and that the length should be along my neck/jawline...I really have a high expectation on my new cut and maybe that's the problem..too much expectation is bad...hmm...maybe that's one of the reason why I am not posting any pictures yet coz I'm still on the process of getting used to my new haircut...I really hope my hair will grew faster this time so that it would not look "chopped off" on my birthday in November :(

so there, aside from that unsatisfying event I had, everything is okay :)

UPDATE: I am now using Venus and Mars Emu soap in Poppy Plush in the morning then Coffee Fame at night..This is because Jamie suggested to me that since I have sensitive skin too, I should just alternate the two..and it's working so far..but when I finished up the sample bars..I think I'll be getting Poppy Plush instead of Coffee Fame since I like the scent and lightness it has on my skin..very creamy and milky :)

My new skin care regimen:

AM
- Cleanse with Venus & Mars Emu soap in Poppy Plush
- spot treat pimples with Zen Zest Tea Tree Oil
- spot treat blemishes with Garnier Spot Corrector Pen (for lightening the marks)
- Protect with Aveeno Baby Continuous Sun Protection Sunblock SPF 55
- Moisturize undereye area with Elianto Pearl eye cream

PM
- remove eye makeup with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- remove face makeup with Wet Ones
- Cleanse with Venus & Mars Emu soap in Coffee Fame
- Spot treat pimples with Zen Zest Tea Tree Oil
- Spot treat blemishes with Garnier Spot Corrector Pen (for lightening marks)
