Review: BYS Blush Duo in 03 Miss Pink

Happy Saturday! I can't believe it's already February...I didn't even felt January =/

Anyway, I will start this FEB-IBIG month ("February" + "pag-ibig" (love) = Feb-ibig) with something pink to commemorate the month of hearts hehe...A review on my current fave blush by BYS Cosmetics.

BYS is an Australian makeup brand that offers great quality products at affordable prices. You can find them in SM Department Stores locally (I got mine at SM North), which is great because no need to order online for these babies :)

Official Website: www.bys.com.au

BRAND: BYS COSMETICS
RANGE: Blush Duos
SHADE: 03 Miss Pink (3 shades available--click here for pics)
NET WT: 5g
PRICE: Php349
INGREDIENTS:

YAY!!

- Gives a very natural splash of color on the cheeks because it has a semi-matte finish.

- Very pigmented. You just need to use a little pressure when picking up some products on your brush in order to get a good amount on your cheeks.

*the vertical swatch is the mix of the 2 colors*

- This lasts long and fades beautifully -- It even lasted on my skin for 10 hours without retouching and I was out most of the time so that's impressive.

- No allergies or breakout.

- Very affordable and easily accessible.

- Cruelty-free brand ^_^

NAY!!

- It have parabens.

- You really need to take extra care in the application because you can easily look clownish because the blush is too pigmented.

- The light shade can sometimes look chalky so it takes extra blending to look natural.

- The reddish one can also be streaky if not applied carefully.

OVER-ALL RATING: 4.5/5

I love it! This is really a steal for P349 -- you get 3 colors already and they will definitely last a long time because they are so pigmented you'll only need to use a small amount of product every time. Definitely recommended.

TIPS:

- Use a stippling brush or a blush brush in applying. Just use the tips of the brush hairs so you won't get a lot of pigments.

- Don't forget to dust off excess pigments on the brush before applying it on your face.

- Use a kabuki to blend out the blush so it looks really natural.

I am looking forward to trying out their lipsticks because I have seen great reviews about them.
Have you tried any BYS Cosmetics product? If yes, please share them here so I can check them out too :)

Thanks for dropping by!

Review: Allue Pretty Cheeks Blush in Pink Delish

Hello everyone! It's now time to share my thoughts about the blush I got from HBC. I have tested out the product for a couple of weeks just so I can give a good review for you all :)

ALLUE GIRL NEXT DOOR PRETTY CHEEKS BLUSHER in PINK DELISH

(whew! what a very long name for a product)

 INGREDIENTS:
NET WT: 0.19oz / 5.5g
PRICE: Php85

It also comes with a brush:

MY REVIEW

PROS:

- Affordable. This blush duo only costs Php75 or Php85. As usual, I lost the receipt :(

- 2 shades that can be mixed or used separately. Very natural peachy-pink shimmeryblush.

- Buildable color.

- Hypoallergenic according to the packaging. This is meant for teenagers so it has less irritating ingredients.

- Available locally in all HBC stores

- The color lasts a good 4 hours on me (I have dry cheeks, though) and the shimmer stay until you remove it.
It fades gradually and become a light flush of color after 3 or 4 hours.

CONS:

- It lacks pigmentation. I need to pile it up in order for the color to show.

- It is powdery. A lot of products "fly" whenever I sweep my brush on the blushes.

- I hate the brush that it comes with. Super small, stiff and useless.

- There are days that it makes my cheeks itch and irritate my pimples if I have one at the time.

OVER-ALL RATING: 3/5
It gives a pretty flush of color and lasts a good while on me but it takes too much effort to build the color so I will definitely use this up pretty quickly at this rate.

WILL I REPURCHASE? No. I would just go and look for other affordable blushes that are more pigmented and less powdery.

Review: Ellana Lip & Cheek Tint in Ruby

As you all know, my sister Mei is a re-seller of Ellana Minerals and she has many testers too so I can easily test some products before I buy them hehe nice advantage right? Well, my sis got herself a lip and cheek tint in Ruby because it is a best seller and we are curious about it. We are used to using blushes in loose powder form so we are quite intrigued on this item. Here's my take on this product. Take note that I'm not in anyway an expert in applying gel or liquid blushes so I had a hard time applying this.

PACKAGING - This product comes in a cleat pump container so it is very sanitary plus it has a lock to help prevent accidental expelling of product. I like the fact that you can easily control the amount of product to pump.

Here's a swatch of the product. It is very red right?
This is how it looks like after spreading it at the back of my hand. It doesn't dry too fast so you definitely have time to blend it unlike other cheek tints that you need to work fast. With Ellana, you can work at your own pace without the worry of having streaks because you don't have time to blend.
Here's what a blended one looks like..I swatched it like this so that the shade can be seen in the picture :)

My FOTD using Ellana Lip and Cheek Tint in Ruby. I applied it both on my cheeks and lips. I used it on top of my Skin79 BB cream (hot pink) then I applied Ellana Sheer Velvet all over my face to help with the oiliness.

I like how it gave me a natural flush that is long lasting. This is a great product and you can definitely get your money's worth. This costs Php180 only (around $3.6) for a 30ml bottle that is full of products.

The only thing I don't like about this product is, as with other cheek tints, it stains my fingers. I feel like if I use any kind of cream or gel or liquid blush, 50% of the product will ust go on the fingers you used in applying haha..look how stained my finger was..
..but aside from that, everything is okay. Oh before I forgot, this will also takes practice to make both your cheeks even since you need to re-apply and re-apply.
So if you are a cheek tint type of girl, then go ahead and buy it but if you are like me who hates getting stained fingers or the extra work of cleaning yourself up, then I suggest you stick with powder blushes since all tints stains ^_^

You can get this or any Ellana products in www.itzmei.multiply.com

Entry for Pammy's Contest: My Favorite Blush ^_^

Here's my entry for Pammy's contest ^_^

My favorite blush is from MEOW Cosmetics and the shade is called "Claw Your Way to the Top". Whew! that's a very long name for a shade haha. I love this blush because of many reasons:

1. it is very pigmented so I just need to use a very small amount of product each time

2. not only is it pigmented but its staying power is superb. this blush lasts me the whole day! (and I'm oily too)

3. this is a mineral makeup so all the benefits you can get from using a MMU is in this product: chemical free, preservative free, etc

4. this has no expiration date! I can stock up on this and I won't worry of them getting spoiled

5. very affordable since a whole full size pot can last me years! this sample pot is already nearing its 1st b-day and I still haven't finished it yet haha

6. it is matte..I can just add glows or highlighter on top if I want a shimmery blush unlike with shimmery blushes, I can't get a matte finish if I need one.

7. and last but not the least, I love the color! it is mauve-pink shade on the pot but after you applied it using a stippling brush, your cheeks will have the prettiest natural looking pinkish shade.

*Under flourescent lighting

*under natural lighting
I'm very excited about this contest because I was once a blush addict and I know the feeling whenever a certain shade of blush give our face the final glow it needs :)

FOTD + my cat

Hello everyone! It's weekend already!! yipee!! hehe I really like to rest :)

It has been quite some time since my last FOTD so I decided to post one today..actually this FOTD will serve as a swatch for my new blush..I got a loot bag during our Japanese friend's birthday party. The bag has some cute fake nals (but I don't know how to attach those hehe), hair clips and these two palettes.

What caught my eyes is this palette..I so love the shade of the blushes! Very pretty and fresh. Sadly, it doesn't lasts the whole day on my oily skin but i'm happy that it lasts for 4-5 hours. I'm not sure though if it causes breakouts or not coz I got itchy when I wore it and the weather was super hot..I'm not sure...

Here's a swatch on my cheeks under natural lighting..isn't it the prettiest? ^_^

It looks so natural! I used both shades and I applied it using my Lumiere stippling brush.

Here are some looks that showed the blush on my cheeks. This is my look lately coz I'm trying to minimize the products that I use on my face to help my skin breath while it is healing from breakouts.

FACE
- Ellana Sheer Velvet powder primer in White Chocolate
- Meow Frisky Abyssinian in Flawless Feline formula
- Aromaleigh URFP in Peaches and Cream

EYES
- Mary Kay Signature Concealer in Ivory (all over lid and undereye area)
- Ellana undereye concealer in Awake (all over lid and undereye area)
- Artdeco e/s in #20 (on upper lashline)
- The Face Shop white eyeliner pencil (on lower lashline and inner corners)

LIPS
- Clarins lipliner in Naturale-Soft Nude
- Stila lipgloss in Vanilla? (I'm not sure on the shade name coz the sticker was gone haha)
Here's a close up swatch..I just applied my Clarins lipliner all over my lips and then topped it with my Stila lipgloss (it's a sheer bronzey shade with gold flecks) :)
Here's another one ^_^

FACE
- Ellana Sheer Velvet primer
- Ellana foundation in French Vanilla (glow formula..this was discontinued already)
EYES
- MAC Painterly paintpot
- Mary Kay signature concealer in Ivory
- eyeshadows from the Japanese palette (green, brown and white) <-- :="" and="" pigmentation="" poor="" power="" span="" staying="">
- Black eyeshadow from Coastal Scents 88 palette as eyeliner on upper lashline (dry)
LIPS
- Venus & Mars lip balm
- Ellana moisturizing lip color in Lady Love

I'm in love with blush's shade but I want something that lasts the whole day..I hate retouching during the day..If any of you knows a blush with high quality pigmentation and staying power with the same shade as this, please post them on the comment section below..I would like to have a peachy pink blush that has sheen and a little shimmer (not glitters).. I'm looking forward for your recommendations! Thank you! ^_^
I want to end my post with a picture of my cat "Muning". This is how she looks like when she's sleeping and "sun-bathing" on her favorite spot (in my window)..She can stay a long time like that without moving :)

Till my next post! Thanks! ^_^
