The Hunger Games Capitol Makeup

Hello! I know that The Hunger Games fever is still ongoing so I decided to share this makeup look I did a few weeks ago. I played with my makeup after watching the movie and this is what I came up with. I didn't do a makeup tutorial for this since a) It's not that great compared to other Capitol makeup tutorial I've seen and 2) the makeup did not came out as I wanted it too hehe. I think I look like a water entity instead but I still wanted to share it with you guys and get your opinion if it will pass as a Capitol Makeup ^_^

I loved it when they showed the Capitol because everyone looks so creative and confident on how they look. It was so colorful too so it attracted me to recreate it ^_^

CAPITOL STYLE HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Matching colors - If you watched the movie, you will notice that the people from the Capitol always have matching shades on their hair, makeup, accessories and clothes.

2. Bright colors - they love bright and vibrant colors like reds, blues, violets, gold and silver. You can rarely see dull colors.

3. Over the top styles - their clothing are so extravagant! Made from rich material and styled as if there's always a royal ball to attend.

4. Makeup- the ladies' makeup centers on eyeshadows and lips more. Very pale face with little to no blush, fluttery long lashes, eyeshadow colors that matches their hair and clothes and the colorful lips that matches too.

Now, here's my take on it ^_^

Is it scary? haha I hope not, coz I really enjoyed playing. I decided to go for blue because I already have a cheap blue wig with me for playing and I haven't used it yet. Another reason is that, blue is my favorite color so it's actually a no brainer haha ^_^

I applied a very pale foundation and made it very matte like what Effie Trinket looked in the movie. I also paled out my lips with concealer then just applied a green lipstick by Shu Uemura on the center of my lips (like Queen Amidala of Star Wars) then set it with a blue powder eyeshadow. I also washed out the color of my brows with concealer then using an angled eyeliner brush, I applied blue eyeshadow on my eyebrows to match it with my hair.

Now, for the eyeshadow, I just used different shades of blue eyeshadows and blended it out past the eye area and extended it on the temples to give some bluish shade.

Using a metallic blue eyeliner pencil by Etude House, I drew a star on my right cheekbone just below the eye and filled it with gold pigments. I saw one makeup look in the movie with something like it hehe.

SO yeah, that's my take on the Capitol Makeup. I just wish I have a great hair piece and clothes to match it with and make it more real. Oh, and I hope I got a camera that can capture the vibrancy of the colors I used. I think the lighting washed it out a lot.

Thank you for dropping by! ^_^

Halloween look: The Wicked Witch

Happy weekend everyone! It is another rainy and very windy day for us so keep safe!

Anyhow, since it is the halloween season, I decided to join the craze and create a look. This is my first time to do "scary" makeup hehe I was just inspired by all the beauty gurus in Youtube doing crazy makeup for the holiday. I agree that this is the only time of the year where crazy makeup is very much accepted by everyone so I want to take the chance. At first I wanted a vampire look but as I go on, I got an inspiration to become the wicked witch. I love fairy tales and they are not complete unless there's a villain. She is always a beautiful lady that has a very evil soul. So yeah, I hope I was able to capture it on my cam. It really looks scary in person..I was even able to scare my sister this morning haha ^_^

My inspiration:

Here's my version of a wicked witch ^_^

Let's start with the eyes..Pardon me for the messy falsies..I still can't get used in putting them on but at least I can now remove them and the glue with ease unlike the first time :)

EYES:
- Skinfood salmon concealer
- MAC Paintpot in Painterly
- Coastal Scents 88 matte e/s palette (sorry, I was unable to take a pic of the colors I used bec. my cam died)
- The Face Shop false eyelashes in XNS

Now for the face..I kept everything pale white as to give a more eery look...

FACE:
- Sunblock SPF 80 (to give us a whitish cast)
- Ellana Sheer Velvet Primer powder
- Meow foundation in Flawless Feline formulation "my mix" (this is very light)
- Aromaleigh URFP in Peaches & Cream (to provide some iridescent sheen to my skin)
- Ellana Blush in Serenity (i used this to contour my cheeks)

LIPS:
- Petroleum jelly
- a dark purple lipstick topped with blue violet e/s from my CS palette

And here's my most scariest photo (IMO hehe) ..I think I can pass up as Sadako..what do you think? ^_^

Thanks for dropping by guys! Till next time ^_^
HAPPY HOLLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Playing with colors ^_^

Hello everyone! It's a great day today because it is very sunny but not too hot..I hope everyone will have a great day ^_^

Me and my sis had the urge to play last night with my Coastal Scents 88 matte eyeshadow palette. We chose 2 rainbow eyes tutorial from Youtube to copy and this is what we came up with..yeah she have different makeup for each eye haha :)

HER LEFT eye makeup is from this tutorial by geisha1254..she also used her CS 88 palette so we tried to match the shades she used..I think we did a pretty good job in finding the exact match of the shades lol :)
HER RIGHT eye makeup is from this tutorial by MissChievous..she used different products and the CS shadows are not as vibrant..but we found some close shade match of what she used and I think we came close :)

My sister is the one applying the colors and I helped in blending and giving her the makeups she needs (yup! I'm the assistant in this project haha)..I'm also the photographer..I don't have any photography skills so these shots are to my best of ability already haha :)
Just having fun with the camera! If you want to see more pictures of my sister, you can chek out her blog here..she put up all of her pictures there :)

Here's a shot of her promoting her new product hehe ^_^
That's Ellana Minerals new packaging for their lip products (moisturizing lip colors and lip balms)..it contains the same amount of product and it still retails at Php150. They also released a couple of new shades and this is one of them.
Lady Love is a pretty light pink color. I think this is perfect for a natural look or to pair with dark eye makeup.
Here's my review:
PROS
- non drying to the lips..it has moisturizing properties
- affordable and accessible to buy
- sanitary - you don't need to dip your finger in the pot anymore in order to get the product
- travel friendly - the tube is a slim, plastic tube so it can easily fit in any size of purse
CONS
- it's not as pigmented as the ones in the pot..I need to layer this to have a decent shade on my lips
- it has a noticeable mint to it..i think the original one don't have any mint on their moisturizing lip colors
- this worked and feel the same as my Bare Naturals lip tints
OVER-ALL RATING: 4/5 . I like the new packaging because it'smore sanitary but I love the quality of the original one better..I hope the other shades are more pigmented than this one.
WILL I RE-PURCHASE? hmm I'm not yet sure..probably..if there's a new shade that I like to get :)
WHERE TO PURCHASE: you can purchase any Ellana Mineral products at www.itzmei.multiply.com
Thank you for dropping by! and Have a nice day everyone! ^__^
