Kpop Update: Nichkhun for Bench

Happy Friday everyone! 

Ben Chan Tweeted yesterday morning confirming that Nichkhun of 2PM is the newest addition in Bench's Global Trendsetter Endorsers together with Super Junior Siwon & Donghae, Lee Min Ho, Jessica Sanchez and Maroon 5 Adam Levine. I really admire Ben Chan because he knows which international endorsers to choose and when to use them. He knows that these celebrities have die-hard fans and he can earn big during contests periods hehe :)

Seriously, I can't believe it when I saw the tweet! Out of 2PM, Nichkhun is definitely my bias and I am just so happy he is the one they choose. I am already so excited to see him on their concert next week and now with this new endorsement, I know he will be having a fan meet too in the near future. I can't wait to see what kind of fan meet they will have for Nichkhun...if it's gonna be like with Siwon and Donghae or like with Lee Min Ho.  Either way, I will definitely join even if Bench products are crappy in quality. I'll probably end up buying undies this time because even if those fades after several washes, I can still wear them hehe :)

2012 Hits and Misses

BEST PRODUCT FINDS OF 2012

1. Google Nexus 7 

This is the best 7 inch tablet ever! Super fast and responsive since this contains the latest android (Jelly Bean 4.2) on it's purest form. It can also play full HD videos, pictures and music plus i'ts a good ebook reader. There's also a lot downloadable applications (games, programs, etc) at Google Play. 


2. Allue Lip Conditioner

This is one of the best finds I had this year because it is very affordable and it works!


3. Artist Studio Brushes

Again, you can never beat the affordable price of these brushes AND you are getting high quality product at the same time. Definitely the best makeup brush to start your collection.


4. Payless "Lower East Side" flats

*sorry about the dirty appearance of the shoes*

These are my favorite pairs of flats. They are really comfortable and is built to withstand everyday abuse. Full review to follow as these babies need more attention :)


5. Lush Hair Duo: Ultimate Shine Solid Shampoo + American Dream Conditioner

These combination is absolutely divine! Long lasting cleanliness and your hair will definitely smell great until your next wash. I will post a full review soon :)


6. Laser Hair Removal - Underarm

I got a gift coupon from Ensogo that entitled me 8 sessions of UA LHR for only Php3,000! I am done with my 8th session this month and I am just waiting for at least 5 weeks to gauge the result. Will post a more in depth review :)


MISSES OF 2012

1. Bench Jeans

Definitely poor in quality especially for the price.


2. The Face Shop eyelash curler

Oh my, I can't use this even if I have all the time in the world to be careful. The shape of the curler is definitely not a match for my eye-shape as it keeps on pinching my lids.


3. Skin Food Black Bean Eyeliner

This liner sucks big time! It is too creamy that even if you wait for it to set, you'll still get panda eyes after 1 minute. 

4. My Phone Cellphone

This has low quality...It's definitely a waste of money because even though it's cheap, it gets broken quite easily.

5. Lush Soak & Float solid shampoo

I can't get over the smoked scent and it didn't work for me either in controlling my dry scalp.

5. Ipanema FlipFlops

It's too flimsy to be comfortable to use for walks. It makes my feet hurt after an hour of walking so I still prefer my Havaianas over this one. 

6. Styli-Style 24hr Liquid Liner Pen

This dried up very fast. I believe this just lasted me 2-3 months..That's too fast and it's quite pricey too at Beauty Bar. 

Those are my Hits and Misses for the year 2012. All of these items are purchased and used this year and were tried extensively by yours truly before I decided which should go to which.

Review: Bench Jeans

Happy Friday! Yay, it's weekend tomorrow and let's celebrate that it's not the end of the world like what the Mayan's says hehe... just kidding, I didn't really believe in all those predictions coz no one can know when the world ends except for Him who created it :)

Today I wanted to share my personal opinion about the jeans I hauled last month when I needed to spend a lot of money to get tickets for the Lee Min Ho fan meeting. Me and my sis actually ended up with 5 jeans and 1 shorts plus a couple of other small knicknaks just so we can reach the required amount. This is the first time I ever bought jeans from Bench and so I have no idea about their quality or what-not. I liked how the jeans felt and fit when I tried them on the store so I ended up with almost an all jeans purchase. So, for first impressions, I loved each piece I got. I've worn and washed them a lot already so it's time to give a review. Here's my thoughts on them :)

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE JEANS:

- The material used are all soft and they doesn't scratch my skin. Very light too so it's not too warm to use.

- I liked the fact that they cost me under Php800 only per jeans. It's really affordable so I didn't think twice.

- The fit ration of the waist band and the hip area is perfect for my shape. I have a hard time finding jeans that fit well so it was really surprising to find something that fits perfectly.

- You have a lot of designs (colors, cut, fit, etc) to choose from.


WHAT I HATED ABOUT THEM:

- The quality is so poor for the price. It felt like I just bought a Php200 pair from Divisoria. 
Out of the 5 jeans I got, 3 of them sucked:

           > the color faded after the first wash. It bled so bad and the other clothes that was washed with it got stained blueish green. They now looked so old even though they are only a month old and have only been worn and washed for 3-4x. Every washing makes the color fade more.

           > 2 of them stretched after the first wash and it doesn't fit good anymore. My butt looks weird because it doesn't fit perfectly in the crotch area. The legs stretched too so they're not flattering.

          > one of the jeans also got a weird texture after the first wash. "Naghimulmol" is the right term. It really looked like I have washed it a dozen times already instead of once.

- The material used got thinner and thinner after very wash and I felt like I'm wearing leggings instead of jeans.


OVER-ALL RATING: 2.5/5

For the price, it's definitely not worth it. I guess all the money goes to advertisement when it comes to Bench's budget instead of focusing on the quality of the clothes. I will never buy clothing again at Bench because even their undergarments are poor quality. If at first I was happy I got a lot of jeans, now, I hope I just bought other stuffs like bags or food or even panties. 

The only purchase I enjoyed were the shorts and shirt because that didn't stretched as much but the color faded already so they look old now. I still wear them because they fit nice. 


What about you? What's your favorite brand of jeans? I'm looking for good quality jeans right now. I love the fit of Jag jeans but the usual problem I get from them is the thinning of the material in the butt area. So please suggest some good brands to buy denim :)

Personal: Dream come true :)

Okay, I know I have posted this at my Facebook page but I want to share it here as well. I am just so happy I want everyone to know why haha :)

I was able to get patron seat tickets today for the Lee Min Ho fan meet by Bench! I really can't believe how lucky I am today!

I went to SM North around 2pm to buy tickets for Big Bang's concert tomorrow. I know that I'm buying it too late but I left it to fate since I don't have extra money to buy earlier. Sadly, as expected, concert tickets are out of stock already for the general admissions. I was sad, but then, it's my fault so I don't have

others to blame.

I then decided to check out Bench next coz I know they'll release a second batch of Patron tickets anytime and I wanted to inquire. According to the staff, they did have some but it was already sold out yesterday. I was so bummed out coz I missed it again.

I then decided to check out the Trinoma branch too because I just need to cross the street...And guess what? I was so lucky that 50pcs arrived at Trinoma this lunch and when I arrived there, only 30pcs are left. And after trying out stuff and deciding what to buy, there were only 17 tickets left.

I am really so lucky today! If I went either earlier or later, I would have missed the tickets. I was able to get 4 tickets for me, my best friend, my sis and her sis-in-law. I chose to get classic jeans coz it would be easier to fill the needed total at the shortest amount of time. I was so worried that I would take too long to chose and i won't have tickets anymore when I pay haha.

Anyway, I am just so happy I can't stop laughing and jumping as soon as I got home. My dad's best friend who are here thought I won the lottery or something when I arrived because I was super happy and giggly haha. It was really hard to keep all that giddiness inside :)

I called my sis at the office and told her the news and she had a hard time trying not to shout with joy haha I can actually imagine her giggling alone at the front desk..her client must have thought she was crazy LOL :)

Lesson for today: It's very very hard to contain your happiness in public when all you want to do is laugh with joy even though you are all alone! LOL :)

Lee Min Ho Live in Manila!

OMG!!! I can't believe one of my dreams will come true on my birthday! Korean actor Lee Min Ho is confirmed to come here in Manila on November 16, 2012 and will be having a Fan Meet at Smart Araneta Coliseum as the newest BENCH endorser.

My birthday is on November 15 and he'll be here the day after. I will definitely do my best to be able to get a ticket in the front row!! So excited!!! ^_^

The selling of tickets started Saturday and yesterday night, there's already a shortage. I was only able to get  tickets for Upper B seats. I am going to check out other branches if I can still find Patron ticket *crossing my fingers*

Siwon & Donghae in Manila for Bench

Hello everyone! If you're a fan of Super Junior, then you already know that Siwon and Donghae were here in Manila yesterday for the event of Bench at Trinoma Activity Center. Sadly, I was unable to enter the contest held by Bench wherein I will get the chance to see them up close (near the stage) and therefore I was also not eligible for the raffle draw during the event where in the winners will have a chance to have autographed shirts or posters and take a picture with them..Although, come to think of it, how many raffle tickets should I have in the first place in order to be picked so that I can be part of it? According to the mechanics, for every Php1000 you buy from Bench, you'll get one raffle ticket and Bench will choose 700 people from there. I'm pretty sure those who won have more than 1 ticket each because the fans club of Super Junior is BIG and everyone wants a chance to shake the hands of Siwon and Donghae ^_^

Me and my sister just decided to go early to look for a spot to stay and watch them from afar since the Activity Center of Trinoma is open. We settled for Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on the 3rd floor because it faces the stage directly and we can relax until the event starts. I would have preferred my spot beside the stage on the 2nd floor escalator (That's where I stayed before when Kim Hyun Joong arrived for The Face Shop and it has a great view coz it's unobstructed) but my sister doesn't want to squat there the whole day (hay naku) so I gave in.

We arrived around 10:30am or at most 11am at Trinoma (It's late but my sis moves so slow!) and there were already a lot of people and we already don't have a table near the side rails (boo!). But we still found a good spot to stay, thank goodness. We had Roast Chicken and Mushroom Fustini pasta (this one is so good!) and my fave decaffeinated White Chocolate Dream Latte for brunch.

Here's the makeup I wore yesterday...I don't know why fans bothered to look very very nice (yeah, it's not just us who took care in what we look hehe) when we won't be seen by SiHae, but still there's hope! I decided to go with a "No Makeup makeup look" because I know I will get sweaty and I want my makeup to fade well just in case you know LOL.. I also wore my hair in a neat hairstyle (I braided my bangs and put it in a one side ponytail) so that I won't look wasted after I jumped up and down. It's successful! ^_^

FACE:
- Dreamworld Mineral foundation Mix (I have mixed a lot of shades hehe)
- Aromaleigh ultra-resolution finishing powder in Peaches and Cream 
- Pop beauty blush -- shimmery peachy-pink (can't remember the shade coz I transferred it on a different container when it got broken)

EYES:
- Tony Moly berry lovely girl tip concealer #1
- Christian Dior eyeshadows - nude and peach
- Tony Moly backstage eyeliner in Black

LIPS:

- Watson lipbalm in Wild Cherry (this gives a pretty red tint)
- H&M lipgloss in Sweet Cherry




THE CROWD:

Trinoma was jam-packed with fans on all 4 levels and anywhere you can see the stage. Here's some shots showing how many people went just to catch a glimpse of Siwon and Donghae ^_^

I think more than 5,000 people were there because on the inside of the reserved area alone there were already around 800-900 people including the 700 winners, Bench's staffs, security personnel media men, VIPs and medics.  And add the number of people around the ground floor and the other 3 floors where we have at least 3 lines from the side railings.

It was really a sight to remember and can you just imagine how loud it was when each one of us shouted at the top of our lungs? My bf and my sis' bf got shocked and irritated at the same time hehe


THE EVENT

They started the event with a raffle on who will get a chance to go up and shake hands with Siwon and Donghae.. I was really jealous coz they were able to hold their hands and have a picture taken and also get autographed stuffs :(

They entered in style and did their usual introduction as Super Junior ^_^

Then they had a Question and Answer portion with the MC. I am not sure if the translation is the same since there is no pause for the translator to give the MC the answer of SiHae before she says it in English...Nevertheless, I was still happy to see them in person and to hear their voices live ^_~

After the signing and picture taking, they said good bye to the fans. ..BUT the two of them came back with their own digital camera so that they can take a picture with everyone as the background! They also did fan service and sent us hearts and kisses before leaving the stage for good.  I really got teary eyed because of too much happiness ^_^

I hope they'll go and include Philippines in their lineup for the Super Show 5 ^_^


NOTE: Lee Min Ho is the next Bench model!!!
