2012 Best TV Shows

Happy Friday, guys! It's another long weekend coming up and I'm pretty sure a lot of you are excited to spend it with your love ones. I, myself, is gonna go with my family to our rest house in Tagaytay this weekend so I will put up 2 post today because there's no internet there hehe :)

For today, I have decided to put up my BEST TV SHOWS for the year 2012...As with the books, this can include shows aired from the past years but as long as I have just watched it this year, it is included :)

* If I have reviewed it, I will put the link on the title*

In no particular order:

This drama is perfect! Among the 2012 Korean drama releases, this is by far the best because it's story is complete and the storyline is well executed. Even the explanation for the time travel and the ending is good. I also enjoyed the drama and comedy all throughout the 20 episodes. There's no repetitive conflicts and every scene is needed to make the story whole. Highly recommended!

I really, really liked this Korean drama. It starred Lee Min Ho and Kim Hee Sun which are both great actors. Even the supporting roles are played perfectly so thumbs up for the whole cast. This drama have everything: love story, comedy, drama, fantasy and time travel. The story is very well executed and there's no loop holes. I just hope they ended it with a hug or kiss but aside from that everything was tied up in a pretty little bow. I definitely recommend it to anyone :)

3. Vampire Diaries

Definitely one of the best vampire TV shows now. The casts of Vampire Diaries are great actors and I can't single out anyone who can't portray his/her role perfectly. Even without having able to read the book, the show itself got me hooked with it's own storyline and adaptation (unlike with the Twilight Saga wherein I just watched it because I love the books =/). This is still ongoing and I am currently watching Season 4-- It's still good! Bonus points for having good looking casts too hehe :)

This is a live action Taiwanese drama based on a Japanese Manga. I love how true to the story this is and I really felt like I'm watching anime except the actors are real people. Kudos to Ivy Chen for making the whole show enjoyable to watch because she was able to act perfectly according to the character of Gong Xi. Definitely recommended for manga/anime addicts and Super Junior fan like me :)

I really enjoyed watching the Korean version of Hana Kimi. I am a fan of the manga and my favorite live action was the one made by Japan a couple of years ago. I can't even remember how many time I have re-watched the Japanese version so I really have high expectations for this drama. I am just so happy that To The Beautiful You made their own adaptation and they gave it a new flavor that is their own. I loved it!

6. I Need Romance

I grouped these 2 together even though they are different dramas because they have the same concept. I really applaud TvN for making these Kdrama unique from others. These have a new appeal and is more mature in content because it was shown in a cable channel, which I think is an advantage because the writers had a lot of room to work with. Great cinematography and perfect execution. I can't count how many times I have re-watched Season 1 just to see the romantic scenes that I can't normally see on other dramas. Perfect for those looking for something different than your average Korean drama :)

7. The Romantic and Idols

Another TvN show but this time it is a reality TV/variety show type. I really enjoyed watching this 8 episode cable show that consists of 8 idols going on a 3 days 2 nights dating game in Jeju. I will do a separate review on this once the last episode got aired next week. But for now, all I can say is, it is worth watching especially if you are a Kpop fan :)

8. We Got Married Season 4

I am really enjoying the current season of We Got Married. I liked the concept of having a WGM Village and there's a constant interaction between the 3 couples. All 3 couples really gives me a lot of laughter every Sunday night with each episode. I always look forward in watching them. I hope there will be more funny episodes to come with no interruptions :)

So, there are my best TV shows of 2012! Do check any of these out and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy them as much as I did. I am looking forward on what I will watch for 2013 :)

Drama Review: Vampire Diaries Season 3

Hello everyone! I'm alive again. It's so hard being sick..I won't give details except for the fact that I'm lying in my bed since Sunday night trying to get over my illness. I am feeling a lot better now...just a little headache due to sinusitis and a runny nose :)

During my house arrest, I watched the 3rd season of Vampire Diaries. I really needed to catch up because the 4th season will begin airing this month (October 16 here in our country at ETC) and I can't watch that if I haven't finished Season 3, can I?

MY THOUGHTS:

I got really hooked in this series. I can't believe I will really watch another US TV series as much as this one. The last American TV show I followed was Charmed and I was still in high school during that time. I prefer Asian dramas (Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese...I don't like our local dramas) coz they have a concise story line and will not have a repetitive story line (remember Santino, guys? The kid who got kidnapped so many times, died and brought back to life so many times just to make the story longer because a lot of people watches it?) So, I am really surprised that I am following all the seasons of The Vampire Diaries :)

I have watched Season 1 and 2 back to back because I was able to buy a DVD copy but I needed to wait for Season 3 to be available. If you are interested to read my thoughts on the first two seasons, you can check here.  I've watched Season 3 in a 2-day marathon while I was sick. I really enjoyed watching it and it served as a great source of entertainment while I was lying in bed and sneezing hehe.

Season 3 really lived up to my expectations. It did not disappoint me with all the new characters and new twists that happened. I am just sad that a lot have died and got hurt both emotionally and physically.

One of the conflicts in the plot is Elena choosing between the 2 Salvatore brothers and she did choose at the end of season 3. I am just not sure if this choice will hold over to the next season because of what happened to her and all of her friends. I also hoped that Season 4 will be more awesome and I am expecting a lot more action from her :)

OVER-ALL RATING: 4.5/5

The Vampire Diaries TV series has all the things it needed to make the story quite interesting for both teens and young adult alike. It has a story about family, friends, relationships, vices, and fantasy/supernatural. I am looking for ward to the 1st episode of Season 4 in 6 days :)

[SPOILER] Read at your own risk hehe ^_^

Aaarg! I really believe Elena is in love with Damon and not Stefan. I think she got her feelings all messed up because a lot of the pain that she experienced was due to Damon's lack of better judgement and actions so her mind can't accept the fact that Damon is the one she truly loves. Poor Damon being hurt and rejected over and over and over again by the woman he loves even though all he wants is to keep Elena safe and part of the living. I am wondering how Elena will feel when she remembers that Damon is the first one she met and what Damon told her before she was compelled to forget? I am definitely a Team Delena. I liked Stefan but I feel like Damon is better for her because he is not unstable.

Also, I can't believe Tyler is gone. How can he come back if Klaus' body is already burned? I also am foreseeing Bonnie becoming a little crazy and going to the dark side because of all the loss she experienced. ..And Jeremy becoming a real vampire hunter and following Ric's footsteps because he lost everyone due to these vampires.

Are you also excited that Season 4 is gonna start soon? Are you team Stelena or Delena? ^_^

Drama Review: Vampire Diaries Season 1 & 2

This was supposed to be uploaded last week before my laptop died and my uncle got hospitalized. I guess I'll just post it now to keep you all occupied for a while :)

....And because I can't use my laptop for a while, I spent a whole week watching The Vampire Diaries because my best friend suggested this to me. I bought DVDs of Season 1 & 2 last last Sunday and I finished all 44 episodes (22 each season) in 5 days! I can't believe I did that and I can't believe that I liked it so much that I ended up re-watching every sweet moments on Youtube.

I love paranormal love stories and that is why my best friend suggested this series to me (plus the fact that she have a huge crush on Ian Somerholder hehe)..she knows I will love it because the casts are all great actors compared to the other adaptations like the Twilight casts (I love the books so much but I hated the acting on the movies) and hotter too (yeah, I don't actually like Rob and Kirsten) so I won't be disappointed. Personally, I haven't read the books and I don't plan on reading them but I like the TV adaptation and I'm pretty sure the book and the TV version are different so it doesn't matter.

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:

- The casts! As I've said, aside from the fact that they are all gorgeous, they are also great in acting. They can really make you feel the emotions of the characters...I cry when it's sad and I laugh when it's funny.

- This series got me hooked from Episode 1. There's never a dull moment for me and I enjoyed every moment I watched it.

- This series has so many twists that you really need to watch it to understand which in turn make it an interesting show to watch.

- I think it's a great love triangle between the 2 Salvatore brothers because they are so totally opposite and both of them love Elena in their own way. After 2 seasons, I am still not 100% sure which of the brothers I liked more for Elena to end up with. I hate pathetic love triangles that you can obviously see which the lead character will have happily ever after with and that the 2nd guy is just a nuisance, but in this series you can feel the confusion of which one is better. Since I haven't read the books, I don't know who Elena will choose but I am hoping it will have a happy ending for all.

- Lastly, I can't help but fall in love with Ian Somerholder in this series. Maybe it's those sexy eyes of his or his manly attitude...But he is the real life epitome of all the alpha male I've read on novels ^_^

WHAT I HATED:

- So far, I hate that I still don't have a copy of Season 3 and I don't know where I can watch Season 4 when it airs.

OVER-ALL RATING: 5/5 - Very recommended ^_^

I am giving this a perfect rating as of the moment because I haven't found anything that I disliked...let's see if this rating will change after I watched Season 3 :)
